Just want your general opinions on these fighters, not a lot of them get any play on the board or anywhere so was just wondering what you think. I will give my opinion after my class, but wanted others first.

I really like Antillon.Solid up & down pressure puncher and has really been active this year.He brutilized Attah.Pulls out a little "tall" but is very exciting,solid body puncher .Also a Tzsyu look alike facially ;D
Vanes was in very tough last go.Had to adjust against a rock jawed Medina and caught more than a few right hands.He is overly reliant on that uppercut from the outside.Needed a 10 round rough one,should serve him well?
It's early in the overall career picture.But fun to watch them come up
Started out with Antillon because I'm surprised he doesn't have a runaway bandwagon by now, instead I think it's hard to fill up a Volkswagen with vocal supporters of his. Very exciting fighter and I was super impressed in watching him dispatch of Attah, a semi-slick guy with very good wheels and a good outside game. Antillon went straight at him and didn't get turned off the jab, cut off the ring and just mowed him down. He spaces his shots about as perfect as you can, never smothers himself with his opponent in front of him and is absolutely deadly when he has you there. He's very, very calm and he just has a cool stalking demeanor, he's a cerebral fighter you can tell he never gets overexcited, loves to pound under the elbows and set his offense up from there. And his body attack is among the best in boxing already imo, he just has brutal clubbing power that never stops. Attah had his mouth open from the body shots at the end of the 1st round and was already outwilled, never had any intentions of winning from that point on. His punches are so short and he has such calculated movements that he doesn't waste anything, he isn't fast but he has a tight guard and extremely short punches that it's hard to get more then 1 punch at a time off on him, he has a guard similar to Cotto's where he's not going to be open for more then one shot at a time and your best bet is probably through the middle but he doesn't lunge and get between shots like Cotto tends to do. Can you imagine Soto-Antillon? Or Guerrero-Antillon? Can't wait to see more Antillon, awesome fighter.Quote:

There are going to be fighters especially at welterweight who will be more active then him inside and if he falls in love with getting in and slipping punches to much he is going to lose more rounds then he might think. Also, he looked a bit tired towards the end of his last bout, understandable though it was off a layoff.
Ty Barnett is a wierd one. I saw him live in September and that was the first time I had ever heard of him. He's trained by Barry Hunter who trains the Peterson brothers and I swear he is the third Peterson brother. He even looks exactly like Lamont Peterson in the face. He also fights in the same division at 140. I'm shocked I haven't heard more about him he has all the talent in the world and he fights at the same consistent pace as the Peterson brothers where he doesn't take the foot off the gas pedal nor does he really put it on, just puts it on cruise control. Very composed with every bit of the same style, tight guard, throws almost solely in combinations, goes to the body and head and is just huge for a junior welterweight. Blue chipper, I can't believe I have never heard of him he is going to surprise a whole lot of people one day. The only video I had to go by him before I saw him with my own eyes. I never got the chance to talk with him so I don't know what his am record is or anything but I swear, he is the third Peterson brother and every bit as talented.

Vanes - Skilled boxer at best, he just doesn't do it for me. I've seen him fight in person and I can't say I was impressed.
Alvarado - Reminds me of Margarito with a litte more speed. Would like to see him with tougher opposition.
Greene - The skills are there but there's something about his mind set that makes me question him. Not sure what it is but something there tells me he can loose focus.
Escobedo - I was more impressed with the earlier part of his career then this one. Talk about getting a wake up call, he was labeled as the next De La Hoya then he lost and fell off.
Vasquez - Too early for me too call, need to see more of him. So far the kids looked good.
Lucas - Raw power, needs to clean up the skills would like to see him improve on the defense as he get's hit often.
Devons - The kids got all the skils in the world, I can def. see him beating the top names at 140. He will be a champ as I said before and he will reign as a champ.
I like Antillon from what I've seen but I don't get to see him much. I remember that sparring video where Valero had him out pretty much but when I've seen him as a pro he's looked good.
I don't really like Allen. Don't like his body type, that overly muscular/gas out look, don't think he really has an identity as a fighter. Again I haven't seen too much but I'm not sure about him.
Ty Barnett-know nothing, can't watch that video know.
Don't like Vanes. Nothing too special IMO.
Don't know enough about Alvarado, or Vazquez really. Haven't been watching as much boxing lately really.
I don't know about Joe Greene. Some things I like but if his power fails him is he really a boxer? Again not sure what his real identity is as a fighter, is he a boxer/puncher, pressure guy.
Never really liked Escobedo either. A little stiff, not sure he's got a fighters temperament or confidence or something, something seems missing.
Devon Alexander looks real good.
A little overly critical really but a lot of these guys don't really do it for me. And then some I don't know enough about. Alexander and Antillon are my favorites of the bunch.
Vanes Matrirosyan is someone I've never been high on and that was essentially re-affirmed his last time out. He's a good offensive fighter but he's like a fast Carlos Maussa, he just annoys me watching him really. Maybe I just don't like any Armenian fighters, I don't know. Abraham isn't bad. But I heard someone say that he was a future P4P number 1 and I nearly slapped my own computer screen. Gets hit way to much, chin better be good. Good offensive fighter like I said and he does let go in combos, I lost my notes so no specifics but yeah, not impressed.
Mike Alvarado is probably the strongest and most intimidating junior welterweight I've seen since Urango but Alvarado actually seems to like to work. Seems like a guy who enters the fight looking to box and then just starts unloading progressively more power shots before to long that's all he does, it's fun to watch. Always like a body puncher especially when you have as much power and strength behind your shots as Alvarado and it's not like he's slow like Antillon, apparently he started late he was a wrestler? Good athlete, I like him I wish he could get some bigger tests to go his way.
When you get a chance try to see Ty Barnett, you would be impressed I'm sure as you are pretty high on the Petersons. I think there are like 2 videos out there on him, that 20 second one and then a highlight from the show I went to and that's about it. To bad, very good fighter.Quote:
