Chavez weight problem!
By Jesse Kelley
Fightnews.com
Moments ago, the camp of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. informed Team Vanda that Chavez Jr. will not be able to make the contracted weight of 154 pounds for Saturday night's clash. According to Vanda's promoter Tony Grygelko, the new weight will be at 156, plus or minus a pound. Vanda said he agreed to the new weight terms because he didn't want to drain himself and come in at 153 or 154 for a few thousand dollars more just to have Chavez come in at 157 comfortably. "The Predator" is pretty upset about the whole affair and says it only makes him want to smash Chavez that much more.

Now I really hope that Vanda takes it to his lazy a$$. He had no conditioning in their last fight, so you would think he would have done a better job getting into shape.
Re: Chavez JR weight problem for Saturday's fight!
With poor conditioning, you might just get your wish Diane...
JCCs stamina will fail him.
Re: Chavez JR weight problem for Saturday's fight!
Not a fan of Chavez Jr. I think he's such a protected fighter living off his father's name...
Re: Chavez JR weight problem for Saturday's fight!

Re: Chavez JR weight problem for Saturday's fight!
let's go Vanda let's go.
Chavez Jr. is an embarressment to his name, it's obvious he doesn't train as hard as he should.

Well if you saw the 1st fight you might...
I know I did, I want to see if it was a bad night for Jr. or is that the best he can do. Now with this weight thing it's all pointing for an upsetting night.

I'm with you on this one. I watched the first fight too, so I want to see the rematch.
I hope his laziness, and lack of conditioning, bites him in the a$$ big time.
Re: Chavez JR weight problem for Saturday's fight!
The card ain't half bad either. Nonito Donaire, Lamont Peterson, Vanes Martiroysan, and that Russian middleweight prospect, Korobov.
Re: Chavez JR weight problem for Saturday's fight!
every fighter should be able to make their weight otherwise they shouldnt fight at it
Re: Chavez JR weight problem for Saturday's fight!
Here's his lame excuse for not making weight.

Handlers of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. have denied that Junior is having trouble making weight and attribute the change in contract weight to a mix-up. They are saying they believed the contract said 166 + or - a pound, as it did in the first meeting between Chavez Jr. and Matt Vanda--Jesse Kelley.

That's cool, so instead of admitting to him not training they admit to complete and total incompetence and the inability to read a contract properly :-\
Re: Chavez JR weight problem for Saturday's fight!
This almost makes me think about changing my pick in the prediction comp. But then if he goes ahead and wins anyway I'll be distraught.
Re: Chavez JR weight problem for Saturday's fight!
Unless he pulled a JLC in the second Chico fight and didn't even try to cut the last few pounds, in that case he'd probably be fresher than last time.

I think it's far more likely they've done this to gain an advantage rather than him being underprepared.
I reckon he'll knock Vanda out in 5
