Getting a bit frustrated waiting to hear about the next big welterweight matchup ,
There is a nice talent pool here of
Cotto
WIlliams
Berto
Cintron
Margarito
ClOttey
BUt none of them have fights scheduled except WIlliams! (a not very interesting fight vs phillips I think)
A fight between any of these would be exciting ,
Do you think a fight between any of these guys is close ?
well this is how i see it
Cotto beats everyone there except Margarito. I think Margarito has Cotto's number
Margarito beats everyone except Williams. Again William has Margarito's number
I think Williams beats everyone except Cotto and Clottey. yes i said Clottey ;D
Clottey beats everyone except Cotto and Margarito
Berto only beats Cintron (atleast at this point in his career)
and Cintron looses to all ;D;D

TBH i dont think cintron can beat any of those on the list.
but i wouldnt mind seeing paul beat tony again ;D
a cotto and margarito will happen if they both win early 2009
well as for clottey im not so sure but he might as well fight paul just to get some big match-up at 147
You missed my man Mosley off the list, Goldenboy are still in talks about a possible match up with Magarito, also rumours of Mosley/Berto as well. I still think Shane has the skills to hang with all the top welters even if he is passed his prime.

I think the welterweights are doing a good job of matching up against each other. Judah/Cotto, Cotto/Mosley, Judah/Clottey, Cotto/Margarito, Williams/Quintana, Cintron/Margarito, Mosley/Collazo, etc. It just takes a little time for the next match-up
I could easily see Cintron beating Cotto or Williams or Berto. I could see them beating him, but if he caught any of them clean who knows what would happen. I think guys with great chins like Margarito and Clottey will always give him problems, but like Mike Tyson with his power Kermit is dangerous for almost everyone.
ALso I see Berto beating Clottey(too fast), Cotto(too past and powerful). Potentially even Margarito if he can move, we haven't seen berto move, but he has the potential to be way too fast of foot for Margarito.
I see Cotto beating Williams(so easy to land, body is wide open), Clottey(doesn't hit hard enough to hurt Cotto, isn't a special technical fighter or have an incredible output).
I see Margarito beating everybody but Paul Williams more often then not at this point.
I still think guys like Clottey, Berto, Judah, Mosley should be moving things along quicker.
