Just watched my first Cricket match
I'm not sure I understood everything, but I kind of enjoyed it. It was the Stanford 20/20 against the England team for a prize of $20mil. I found it strange that one player gets to keep batting over and over. I can't imagine what Baseball would look like if the top two batters were able to stay out that long. I enjoyed watching the spinning bowlers. I'm glad they put it on US TV.
I wish they would put Australian rules Football back on US TV. They used to play it all the time when I was a kid, but I don't think I've seen it over here in twenty years and the last time I saw it played was when I was living abroad.

Cricket is one of those very strange sort of things.
What you saw was a game of 20/20 which is played in a 3hour period and is a game of cricket sped up to the max almost the equivelant of you guys having a game of american football that only lasts 20 minutes long.
The regular version of cricket is called a "test match" and is played over 5 whole days with a win, loss and draw all perfectly acheivable. Its very strategical.
Its about as exciting as a bernard hopkins boxset but its a beautiful game that if you follow cricket like i and many of our fellow commonwealth do you will love.
Its the second sport in england way way waaaaaaaaaaayyy behind football and like a religion in australia and the southern asian countrys.

Test matches can be a take sometimes too.
Out here a few years back (probably ten) we had won like three test matches and fukkingtrounced the opposition and if we won one more then the team that was out here had to pack up and go home and that was that for the summer of cricket.
Guess which team won and guess how many more "test "matches the public were allowed to pay to go and see after wards yeah another 4!
HAhahaha turkeys most just sucked it up too.:o
One dayers can be ok if its getting a close finish :-\.
More fun playing the game than watching, same as golf .
