Does Anyone Think Ricky Hatton Is Looking Past Paul Malignaggi ?

I keep seeing interviews/articles with Ricky Hatton talking about Pacquiao, Marquez, Mayweather, ETC.

And it almost seems he thinks he will walkthrough Paul Malignaggi and he seems to be looking past him/underestimating him. And he seems to be worrying too much about future fights.

I know Paul Malignaggi has had some bad performances recently, but with a name like Ricky Hatton. Im sure he will be highly motivated and put in a much better performance.

I think Ricky Hatton will win but the more i keep seeing these, interviews/articles. About Ricky Hatton talking about other opposition all the time, i think the fight becomes that bit closer IMO.

yeah, i think he's looking ahead of Paulie "Feather gloves" Malignaggi. Or maybe that's Paulie "Ginger Beer" Malignaggi.

It doesn't matter if he doesn't have power, he is still a very good boxer at his best. He moves well and he puts punches together very well, i think he could make Ricky Hatton look silly in some parts of the fight.

Plus Paul Malignaggi is tough the beating he took of Miguel Cotto, was gruesome yet he still won rounds and made it a reasonably close fight.

If Paul Malignaggi is at his best against Ricky Hatton which i think he will be. I think he gives Ricky Hatton a close fight awkward fight.

The other dig on Feather gloves is that he takes a lot of punches, unnecessary punches, not punches absorbed for position or countering, but just stupid, gloves are dropped shots to the face.

So yeah, he's going to dance and throw combo's, but he's not going to hurt Hatton, and his defense isn't good enough to "out box" him. Hatton's going to land punches, so FG's toughness will be put to the test.

Personally, I think FG is too worried about his hair and when he puts his purse down and gets in the ring, Hatton's going to hurt him.

I think he is a little bit. I wouldn't be surprised if he lost. But think he'll win.

He's got the Mayweather factor this time. So even if that doesn't do much - as long as he is constantly putting pressure on Powderpuff he should nick the decision.

Hatton isn't looking past Paulie.

Granted it was only for a few moments, but when I saw him this past weekend he looked pretty ready to brawl.

I do indeed...IMO Hatton is looking at Malignaggis power and thinking he will just walk through it and there is no threat..

While I agree Malignaggi will not KO or TKO Hatton...Ricky is seriously underestimating his skills...I also think Hatton has forgotten that Paulie can take a hell of a shot

You never know, with Hatton's punch resistance on the wane we might even see a surprise K.O from a fast, accurate punch that Hatton doesn't see! Unlikely, but Ricky would do well not to look past Paulie because he could be in for major embaressment if he does.

Im interested to see how much Mayweather's influence will show in this fight too. Will his defence be tighter? Will it even need to be? Or does the standard, brawling, Billy Graham produced Ricky Hatton need to show up in order to rough Paulie up and make him uncomfortable?

even with his banged up eye, malignaggi gave cotto all he could handle.

Doesn't matter if Rickys looking past him or not. Paulie hasn't got the tools on earth to beat Ricky Hatton.

BTW if anyone wants a name change, sig bet or anything let me know. It's pretty obv who I'm rooting for :)

You only have to look at the Cotto fight to see what a nightmare Malignaggi can be, he can take a shot and although not a KO artist throws lots of accurate fast shots.

It's going to be very interesting to watch.

Said all along, hatton will get his ass beat in this fight.

Ive only watched Malignaggis last 4 fights but ive seen absolutely nothing in those performances that makes me beleive he can win. I have been completely underwhelmed everytime ive seen him fight.
