Dimitry Salita not as good as he thinks...
No where near. He got rocked on various occasions on Saturday and withstood a number of pounches. At one point it looked as is he was gonna go down. Hasn't got the strongest defense.
I keep hearing him come out with crap stating he wants the big names. Judgeing by Saturday's performance he ain't as good as he thinks.
Your thoughts ?
Re: Dimitry Salita not as good as he thinks...
His defense is porous, but he has moments of quality boxing. He is pretty quick and has decent footwork. He is a top twenty jr. welterweight. The creme of the crop would beat him, but he can do fairly well against average opposition.
Re: Dimitry Salita not as good as he thinks...
Yeah he needs to make improvements on his defense for deffo ... but his chin also needs a bit more testing as he looked wobbly on a couple of occasions and ya have to think at this mo he would be found wanting at the top level.

Re: Dimitry Salita not as good as he thinks...
He has some good skills but he is very beatable. This guy he was up against he should of easily outpointed him with his superior skills. I know the guy he was fighting had never been stopped.
But he was still a limited fighter and Dmitriy Salita, should of had a much easier time with him. Derrick Campos was just walking him down constantly.
And Dmitriy Salita wern't circling the ring well or giving him angles, but this shouldn't be a surpise he struggled against someone of this level before aka Ramon Montano who i think he lost to.
Re: Dimitry Salita not as good as he thinks...
For an 8 year deep, undefeated fighter/prospect, he sure made Campos resemble an actual contender, which he is not.I do not know if it's his handlers, mindset, religious belief/dedication....maybe a combo of the three?? Not exactly like the jr.welter division is stacked with monsters after all.
Re: Dimitry Salita not as good as he thinks...
If it wasn't for the second to bottom rope, Salita would've kissed the canvas multiple times..
Re: Dimitry Salita not as good as he thinks...
He is still a work in progress...Needs to get in a bit more defense for sure....
IMO he will never be at the top of the hill....More or less the guy you need to beat if you expect to make it anywhere...
As far as the comment "He isn't as good as he thinks"...
I have only seen 3 fighters in my life who were/are
Lennox Lewis in his prime
Ray Leonard in his prime...
Marvin Hagler in his prime
Every fighter worth a dime thinks they are the best thing going....If you don't believe in yourself that much you will never go anywhere
