Clearing up the Sugar mess.
Ok I imagine that I did not expalin what had transpired clearly enough so let me do that now. I found myself standing against a wall as Bert approached a group of ladies that were seated next to me. I nodded and said hello and he returned the greeting. I then asked him if I could ask him a question. 'Sure" he replied. His answer was he felt Dempsey or Marciano were the toughest Heavyweight Champs. I replied "thats interesting" He then questioned me on who I thought. I indicated Ali. He made a face as if he had eaten something bad and told me "no way. "Ali was the most talented but not the toughest." I said that after Ali's speed and reflexes left him (Post Cassius Clay) he needed to rely on......." It was at this point in my sentence that he again made the same face ,turned his back on me and walked away while I was in mid sentence. Now I know that some of you belive he is an authority on boxing but I disagree. He is an authority on writing about boxing and that is different. Either way I was respectfull in my speech with him and he surely was not. As far as editing my post. I felt it was wrong to name drop and I attempted to correct that. I did not come to this forum to create a problem and aplogize if I did. My post was to inform the boxing fan ( you folks) of the rudeness of a so called expert when conversing with someone that I'm sure he felt was beneath him. Again my apologies for reacting to the negativity toward my post. Happy Holidays to all. T
Re: Clearing up the Sugar mess.
fair enough on the name dropping thing. point taken. Don't sweat it too much, I think you'll find people here have pretty short memories when it comes to this kind of stuff.
Re: Clearing up the Sugar mess.
This needed it's own thread?
You asked the guy a question, he responded, and you're pissed off because you disagreed and he didn't want to stick around and argue his point?
Thank God you informed us of this, now I can sleep at night.
