"Who you want" VS. "Who you think"
I may have done a thread on this a while back, but now more than ever... for the upcoming Pac-DLH fight, this comes into play as far as I'm concerned.
I talk with a lot of fight fans that tend to confuse the two. Just 'cause they really want a boxer to win, they say he's GONNA win, even if the odds are clearly against him.
So for the record, I'm gonna state what my very different thoughts are for this upcoming fight:
Think: DLH by TKO in 9
Want: Pac by devastating KO in 5 (or less)
See? Case in point.
Re: "Who you want" VS. "Who you think"
The battle of Heart vs. Mind can be a head f!!!!k.Also,we should have a system in which we fans can detail all of out pre-cursors and pending excuses should things not go to our liking....BEFORE...the fight. He was 'past it',he had a bad camp,he injured his hand, his mom kicked him out of the house, etc, etc.Just too many.

My heart says Pac
My Brain say Ocsar
My wallet says Oscar, Oscar and Oscar
Re: "Who you want" VS. "Who you think"
For this fight I actually want Oscar to win and he clearly should, so not feeling it for now. The worst is when you really want a guy to win but don't think he will then just feel like such an idiot for not seeing something at that point after the fight happens, that the guy you were pulling for always should have been a clear pick. Hopkins Pavlik was a perfect example for me. I thought Hopkins would cause him a lot of problems but probably wouldn't have enough steam to win a 12 round fight against Kelly. Yikes:-X

LOL... that's a good idea. And if there's a sport where excuses abound after a fight, it's boxing. So yeah, there should be a system in which to get these in before the fight.
And in boxing is where the Heart vs Mind dilemma seems to play out the most. I know I've been guilty of it in the past myself. That's why I've made it a point of distinguishing between the two for this upcoming farce....er.... fight.

I actually enjoy it when the guy you're rootin for but don't expect to pull it off manages to do it. Then again I'm the kind of guy who always braces myself for a defeat for my football team, so as not to get dissapointed when it happens. It never works tho:(
