Berrio out, Henry steps in!
Berrio for unknown reasons has withdrew from fighting Yusaf Mack, but Chris Henry has step up for the challange.
Contracts were signed today between Yusaf Mack and Chris Henry for the NABA and NABF titles. The fight is the main event on ESPN 2 Feb 6th. I like Mack in this one.
Re: Berrio out, Henry steps in!
I haven't seen enough of Henry to make a prediction, but I'll be watching and cheering for Mack. Good luck.
Re: Berrio out, Henry steps in!
wow good fight there. Henry is a hard hitting fighter and his only loss came to Diaconu in a close fight. Good competition for Mack. Mack and Chris are both pretty much identical in the rankings. Mack is one of our own (in a way ;)) so I'll be rooting for him all the way.
Re: Berrio out, Henry steps in!
Thanks for the Support! Mike the man what do you mean Mack is like one of our own?

I think he means because you and jmtandy post here, keeping us updated that he feels like Mack is like one of us in a way. Mack was also kind enough to grant an interview to one of Saddo's writers, which is great, so I feel we should support him.

i mean how you are always posting updates and news about Mack it almost feels like he is a fellow Saddonian. Like he is one of our fighters. He has in a way become part of this site and for me one of my favorites to watch out for.

If he ever fights anywhere in the Pacific Northwest or in B.C. Canada, I'll take you up on that.

Re: Berrio out, Henry steps in!
To be perfectly honest Barron, I wasn't a fan of his at all until you guys started posting here. It's not that I disliked him or anything (I felt bad for him in the Berrio fight), but I just wasn't that aware of him. But the way you guys have gone about posting in an honest, genuine manner has made me cheer for him. You provide inside information on him and interact with us here, regardless of our opinions on your fighter, and that's great. Obviously, there is a promotional aspect to it, but you go about it in the right way and I appreciate it. Like Mike said, it's really made him feel almost like our house fighter or something like that.
It's unfortunate that guys like you sometimes get overshadowed in the short term (and I stress short term) by gong-shows like the Hartley - Zelenoff farce (no offense to Hartley, I wish him the best), but in the long term it's you guys who endure and the vast majority of us appreciate it greatly.
The fact that he was kind enough to give Saddo's an interview was great as well.
Good luck, and hopefully Mack fucks up Henry on his way to a title shot.

excellent post and that is exactly how i see it aswell. Great job there Barron71 and Jmtandy.
Re: Berrio out, Henry steps in!
Thats a good fight, I think Henry is a tough opponent. Henry likes to fight inside mainly and Mack has the reach I believe in this. If Mack keeps outside he can easily outbox Henry. Henry squares up inside and usually throws the same stuff, he always throws that chopping right. He is a sucker for shots up the middle and counter rights off his jab. He's got a good chin though.
Re: Berrio out, Henry steps in!
Henry is a great replacement, and a more winnable proposition IMO. I would definately put my money on Mack in this fight. I'm not saying Henry is a walkover, far from it. I just think Mack has the toolkit to look impressive here.
Mack, late TKO
any idea of the undercard?
