If PBF "unretires" NOW, the timing will be very fishy
OK, so Floyd retired from boxing, 'cause supposedly he had nothing left to prove... no more challenges. Now all of a sudden, there's a new face at 147. One that comes from a much lower weight division. Now all of a sudden we could hear from Floyd. "He's got to defend his # 1 p4p status"... "he's got a new hunger to fight"... blah, blah, blah, ad nauseaum. Meanwhile, he has conveniently chosen to ignore/avoid the Cottos and Margaritos of the welterweight division.
I don't know about anyone else... but I can smell this coming a mile away.

I thought he said he was taking a break for boxing for a year or ETC ? I actually don't remember him saying he was retired. And since he has been training recently its obvious he wanted to fight the winner of last nights fight. But i agree he also should fight one of the top boys in his own division like Antonio Margarito/Shane Mosley winner.

But he won't. And as long as he doesn't, he won't be able to shake that perception that he's ducking the division's best. I'm not a Floyd hater by any stretch of the imagination, but I've never bought into the whole PBF at 147 thing. Other divisions, fine... he's proven he's the best. But not at 147. All he's done there is duck the best.

They were saying before the hatton malanagi fight that floyd was training again and looking to get ready for a fight. That was BEFORE pac beat oscar... so dont get the band wagon started now about he us coming back to fight pac because he is small etc

From what I saw last night,he's better off with Cotto,Pac showed a suprising amount of pop at that weight,and his speed didnt look diminished one iota from coming up.
If Manfreddy gave Floyd some problems,Pac might remove that legendary status from Floyd

Isn't it he wrote and publish a letter and telling us he is retiring for the reason that he has nothing to prove anymore and he got lots of money? Hope he stays where he is now...

If Margarito and Cotto are the best the division offers, He beats the best easily, at least in Margarito's case. I don't see how anyone could see otherwise. I think Manny is the best fighter he can fight, and the most difficult fight, just like going to 154 against Oscar was, just like fighting Hatton IMO was. These are fighters who's styles have made them bad matchups for Mayweather. I think Cotto could give Mayweather some problems, but would you honestly expect Mayweather to come back to boxing and give Cotto a chance at his title when Miguel got knocked out by Margarito? Now that Manny is in the picture there is really nobody else for Mayweather to fight.

Both Pac & Floyd might actually prefer to fight @ or near 140. They could both have a lot of pop @ JWW.

I still don't see Pacquiao beating Floyd.. even after a great showing last night.. Pacquiao gets sloppy, and floyd will exploit that all night.. I still say the hardest fight for floyd would be cotto.. someone technically sound and has power.. Margarito has the power and relentlessness but floyd will land all night on him just like Cotto did, except he wouldn't get hit as much..

Nah Floyd had plenty of legit contenders. First of all The Tijuana Tornado Tony Margarito
but the reason Fraud didnt want any part of Tony is because his cajones shrunk. The Prima donna was scared he'd lose his "0" not to mention tget the crap beaten out of him

Margarito needs to re-match Paul Williams,plain and simple,the man was clearly beat by Paul.Fair and Square.Mayweather was right,beating Margarito has done nothing for the carear of P.Williams,and would have done nothing for the legacy of PBF.Margarito is one big tough SOB,but until he re-matched P.Williams as far as I`am concerned he is as guilty of "Ducking"as anyone else in the game.

I must be in a cynical mood this A.M,I agree here.Sad to say,things seem to be going the way of Glam fights and real life dancing with the stars mega network dealings while credible fighters with lesser known names,to the general public,sit on the sidelines.I really see a shift.

I don't know if Floyd is avoiding anybody, because I haven't actually heard of any of the other big guns at welterweight actually going after Floyd. But maybe I missed that part.
I see a Floyd bout with PAC being bigger money than anyone else at this point.
Floyd himself came right out and said it once, I forget the exact words but it was something like "I've been through 5 weight divisions, and I don't really feel an obligation (desire?) to call out the big guys at welterweight"

not fishy to me. the only person that can catch PBF attention is Pacman Marg and Cotto can only bring so much to the table and to me wont even win. So if he comes back to face Pac i would love every minute of it.
