He is such a humble guy, who in the past when other commentators have commented on him getting knocked out, he just shrugged it off, but I was little confused why he was comparing himself to Wladimir on Saturday with their performances against Rahman. I mean he is one of the greatest heavyweights EVER, there is no comparison, but Lennox seemed to bring it up a fair bit, and he has given a lot more credit to much worse fighters than Wladimir. I was surprised by that.
I was also surprised. That was out of character; him pointing out why he did a better job against Rahman then Klitschko.
It was probably due to the fact that Rahman did KO Lennox and I know that it never sat well with LL...Even though LL evened the score with Rahman it still burns him that someone on Hasim's level could ever have KO'd him...the Lennox-Rahman 2 fight was how the first one should have gone and Lennox was/is completly embarrased by the loss to HR...I think his comments were more due to Lennox' bruised ego than anything...He still is a class guy...
It's just natural for any person to throw out there achievments out there every once in a while, not matter how humble he might appear, especially someone who is very competitive.

I didn't mind it and everyone knows how much of a fan I am of Wladimir. I really thought Lennox wanted Wladimir to show more than he did, I felt the same way.
I just want Wlad to get back to fighting in a more "guns a blazin" way like he used to....I don't mind him winning or how he wins but I would rather see the big time KO's of earlier in his career rather than the more cautious style he has now. I think he's at a point in his career where he should be compared to guys like Lennox and Lennox was 100% correct, he did better vs Rahman (the second time) than Wlad did vs a poorer version of Rahman.
Ive come around On Lewis quite a bit.Pretty cool,top champion with measured smugness.He also took quite a few swipes at Rahman and his weight.Something about having a 'fat' chance and rotund ?;D
As much as that would make it so much better for the viewers than the Wladimir Klitschko we have today, I'm just not convinced he can get over the KOs he's received previously, and just can't really let go of his hands for fear something big may come over the top when he lowers his guard. No doubt Wlad is one of the greatest all-time heavyweights, he's made himself impenetrable behind that guard, and no one can get close to him to beat him.Quote:

I like what he does, he is still winning almost every fight by stoppage, and he is making it virtually impossible to hit him minus the Thompson fight.
I thought it was hypocritical of LL to criticize Wlad for using the same cautious, jab-happy style he used to dominate the HWs of the 90s. Wlad is the same as him, he's been caught and KO'd by lesser opponents and consequently takes very few risks. Watch LL's fight against a dangerous puncher like Tua, its the same as what Wlad does now.

Tua was 37-1 with all but 3 of his 37 wins by KO...was Lewis supposed to stand in front of him and suck up punches to prove to you he could:rolleyes:...
Lennox faced Vitaly, Tyson, Rahman, Briggs, Grant, McCall, Morrison, Ruddock...all dangerous punchers of their time....a man worried about dangerous punchers does not have half his resume of wins against them
I just don't think they are very similiar.Both huge and employ superb jabs but I think Lewis was a bit more sturdy/Tougher than Wlad,more diverse and pron to punch back in combination.....go for the KO.I don't see that instinct in Wlad.Both could stink it out at times with ugly bouts,Lewis vs.Tucker,Mavoric mainly but he stood up in some mutual battles as well...Mercer,Vitali,Holyfield 2,Briggs.Wlad had Williamson & Peter as gut checks,ugh.Quote:

How I long for the Roy Jones days. I would settle for the Foreman days. Lewis is brutal on the ears. Great fighter. But pound for pound one of the worst commentators ever. Shannon Briggs who's done some ESPN is way better. So is Nate Campbell. Kevin Kelly was also fantastic on the mike. Any one of them would be an improvement over Lennox "I don't think he's going to make it" Lewis.
