Paul Ingle still in love with the game!
Eight years ago this week Paul Ingle embarked on what many believed would be a routine defence of his IBF featherweight title against South African Mbulelo Botile, but it was a fight which ended up almost costing him his life.
Ingle had swept to the top of his sport after pushing the then unbeaten Naseem Hamed to the limit in 1999 then claiming the world crown with a thrilling, all-action points win over Manuel Medina in Hull seven months later.
The proud Scarborough fighter had to be coaxed out of his home town but his first trip across the Atlantic proved worthwhile as he lit up legendary Madison Square Garden with an 11th round stoppage of Junior Jones.

He used to be one of my favorites as a kid, i remember thinking he would get smashed by Junior Jones. But he done me proud that night, he also had his moments in the Naseem Hamed fight. Good fighter he will be missed i hope your doing well mate.
