Margo Vs. Prime Julio Ceasar Chavez
So the more I think about it the more similarities I see in the Chavez V Taylor fight and the Margo V Cotto fight. Both were behind and although by the time of the stoppage Margo was winning on the score cards I still see his won over Cotto as a come from behind win.
Both great wins, So in a match between Chavez V Margo who wins?
I really cannot pick as I dont remember clearly enough of Chavez's fights to call a winner, but Im gonna go youtube some and get back with an answer what do you guys think???

I think JJC on points.
He has much beter boxing skills than AM and would be too slick even though he is not known for being a boxer.
Re: Margo Vs. Prime Julio Ceasar Chavez
Well for starters weight would be a problem...
JCC's best days were at the lower weight classes 140 and below.
Margaritos a natural Welterweight 147.
What weight class would you stage the fight?
Catch weight? 143.5?
Without weight as a factor I would have to go with JCC as I feel he had faster hands and was more active on his offense.
Margaritos slower and also can take rounds off where he's not active.

Good points on the weight, just looking at some of these youtube fights on Chavez I would have to go with him also at a catch weight or even welter weight of course it would be a win by decision no knockout here.
Chavez seems pretty f'ing brilliant when it comes to his boxing ability. Too bad his soon doesnt have the same style or ability.
Re: Margo Vs. Prime Julio Ceasar Chavez
I would think Chavez could get badly hurt specially after seeing him against Cotto but when Chavez was in his prime he had a solid chin and was hardly cut or hurt clearly. No wonder commentators and people in the arena gasped when Chavez got knocked down for the first time ever, it made the news and all, it was that unbelievable.
I'll go with Porkypara and CutMeMick. I can't see Tony nor Chavez going down but I see Chavez showing better overall boxing skills to get him a decision. Also, speed is a factor here and Chavez would have been a bit faster.
Re: Margo Vs. Prime Julio Ceasar Chavez
Well the only way this makes sense is a P4P matchup considering JCC was not in his prime at 147 and Margo was much more suited for the weight physically.
P4P-JCC
147-Margo
Re: Margo Vs. Prime Julio Ceasar Chavez
Oh what a scrap.Going on a bizarro world pick with the weight diffrences,Off the top and fully respecting my bwoy Margarito.I think Chavez could get inside,he'll absorb numerous hellish uppercuts and have to stand against a huge physical force coming forward......ultimately I think he stands a very realistic chance of getting into Margaritos body repeatedly with effect. He would have to take much punishment but I just see those digging double and triple hooks getting around Tony's elbows for Chavez....and Chavez having an equally thick chin to take what comes back and could move if he has too...well.Tonys best bet would be to get Chavez squared up in exchanges and get very physical, get him on his heels and along the ropes. The weights aside in a p4p mind....honestly lean to Chavez over 12 in a helluva fight:fight:
Re: Margo Vs. Prime Julio Ceasar Chavez
Pound for pound Chavez was the better fighter hands down, but the fight would have to happen at 147 and Margarito would simply be too big for Chavez.
Re: Margo Vs. Prime Julio Ceasar Chavez
JCC Sr. is an unbelievable legend in the sport, but Margarito being "Margarito" (overly active and relentless, immovable blunt instrument), will be too much, and too big, even for a legend like Julio Caesar Chavez Sr.
Not an even match!

Yeah I agree.
Re: Margo Vs. Prime Julio Ceasar Chavez
At first I was thinking there is no better fighter at fighting this type of battle then Margarito, but then I remember his weakness with punches to the body. I honestly see this fight p4p going with JCC stopping Margarito with that left hook to the liver, p4p Chavez isn't backing up the same way Cotto did, he is likely losing the fight, or its very close right up until he downs Margarito the first time to the body.
I think Margarito is better suited for this type of contest because he throws way more punches, great on the inside, body puncher, extremely strong, he's p4p bigger, and like Chavez he can walk through anything. However Chavez is way better against slick boxers then Margarito would be, and in this case when two unstoppable forces meet, one of them has a soft body, and the other throws one of the best left hooks to the body in the history of the sport.
