Gamboa, Solis, FNF is back, Jan. 9
Its so nice for FNF to be back, Teddy Atlas has been getting ready for his return by saying the same shit over and over
Gamboa will fight Roger Speedy Gonzalez, okay fighter I guess, he's getting f'd up though, not enough firepower to mess with Gamboa
Solis is fighting some dude, he's probably fat and not very good, my apologies whoever you are if you're not.

Okay, he's fighting "Big Man" :-\ Kevin Burnett, 13-1-1 with 8 KO's.

Re: Gamboa, Solis, FNF is back, Jan. 9
Burnett was KTKO last outing on the last round bell....think Andrade vs.Bute but at the bell, controlled entire fight.Looks like a huge Michael Grant.Poor Gonzalez, nice guy but could get steam rolled brutaly.A showcase for Gamboa that will prove not so much. But VERY happy they are getting the shows going :rocks:;D

Yeah Gonzalez just doesn't have what it takes to beat Gamboa, even if you think Gamboa's wildly overrated, he's just an average guy. I remember watching him against Cornelius Lock and just being dumbfounded by Lock's lack of effort really, he could have pretty much dominated that fight but just coasted along till the end, realized finally he needed to do something and promptly knocked Gonzalez out. Stupefying performance.

That was a brutal one.Lock folded him.He might give Gamboa some movement, different looks a bit...better hope for chin to fail on Gamboa.Gamboa just seems to be bulking up in mass....one of the cockiest guys going today.
Showcase for Cuba night ,;D;D yep

Yes - I am excited FNF is starting back up.....
On a side note, they are hyping Gamboa up so much and I think Gamboa believes all the hype...they make him out to be some miniature Tyson who can knockout anyone...I just have this feeling he is going to get KO'ed when he steps up to some real competition........He has way too many flaws at this stage in his career to be a real threat IMHO...

Re: Gamboa, Solis, FNF is back, Jan. 9
As somebody who hasn't ever totally bought into the Gamboa hype, recognizes his flaws and all that, is he possibly getting underrated now? He's still got top drawer ability, if you trade with him you're on dangerous ground.
All that being said he fights like a bit of an idiot and he better have a good chin.

Well damn it!! The main event for the 2nd week of FNF is already in the dumper.
I just read that Quintana has injured his ankle in training, and has pulled out. :p

I'm not sure if this is your sentiment, but I also feel that he is being undervalued now, also I think his style will change as he fights better guys. Right now honestly he can fight any way he wants against these guys they are putting in front of him, he's been down a few times, usually off balance, once was because of an elbow.

Re: Gamboa, Solis, FNF is back, Jan. 9
I wasn't exactly meaning that in the sense that I think he'll evolve his style as he moves up, that's certainly a possibility but that's still an unknown. I just mean, even though I don't think he necessarily fights smart, he still could be a handful for a lot of guys on athletic ability, offensive skill alone. Talking about his flaws, its easy to forget that he's got a lot going for him. Especially considering 126 is not exactly stacked.
