Penalosa looking for Juanma Lopez!!!!!!!!!
Well now the WBO will celebrate the Auction to the promoters that is interested in show the title fight between the puertorican Eric Morel and Gerry Penalosa exist the possibility that Penalosa come up weight to 122 pnds. for challenge Juanma Lopez in April..........sounds good ahhhhh;D
Although this would let to Morel to dispute the Belt of 118 pnds. with Fernando Montiel , who is monarch in the 115 pnds.........
Top Rank consider to make the scenario of 3 Championship fights in the same night of April..............
Juanma Lopez would defend his championship with Penalosa and Morel would challenge Montiel to get the belt , by other way Ninito Donaire then could face with Raul Martinez to get the belt from Fernando Montiel......
" Happy New Year ".................;D
Re: Penalosa looking for Juanma Lopez!!!!!!!!!
I'd like to see that! Penalosa vs JuanMa Lopez. Gerry is getting up in age. He has but a few good fights left.
JuanMa can win this fight and solidify his bid for greatness! Especially if he knocks out Gerry Penalosa, and can claim to be the first to do so. It will be entertaining, I say Penalosa has even chances or slightly an underdog.
Re: Penalosa looking for Juanma Lopez!!!!!!!!!
I read that Penelosa has already been offered the fight.
Re: Penalosa looking for Juanma Lopez!!!!!!!!!
Should be a decent match, a perfect one to see how Lopez's stamina is at the very least. Penalosa is one of the hardest guys at the lower weights to land cleanly on. I look forward to this if it happens with great anticipation.

I think Penalosa's camp wanted more money, believing that the offer tendered was a way bit low for what they thought was fair market.
For as long as they don't go fighting somehwere else for a fraction of what is on the table, its all good and makes sense. You got to look out for the big payday, if it is a big fight.
Otherwise, he'd just go full time as a trainer. I understand he works in the capacity of a consultant/trainer for Nonito Donaire.
Re: Penalosa looking for Juanma Lopez!!!!!!!!!
i love gerry but if this happens I gotta go with juanman. its juanmas era beginning. If he knocks out gerry, that would be effing HUGE!

Yeah, love Gerry too. He is one effing magnificent boxer almost always handicapped by his short stature. Almost always gives up in length and makes up for it with superior tactics and ringsmanship.
In this match with JML, if it ever happens, I am not sure if he is not to taste the best leather served by the most devastating puncher to date. If it lands, he better pray it knock him out, otherwise serious damage will be inflicted upon him by Lopez.
Juan Manuel is surely one famished fighter for “trophy” wins!
Re: Penalosa looking for Juanma Lopez!!!!!!!!!
i think lopez will be to much for penalosa
Re: Penalosa looking for Juanma Lopez!!!!!!!!!
If i was Penalosa i wouldn't be looking to hard.
Re: Penalosa looking for Juanma Lopez!!!!!!!!!
Through no fault of his own, except how good he is, I am getting frustrated that Lopez hasn't gotten a chance to fight Vazquez or Marquez yet.

It would help if Lopez and his people actually made an offer to Vazquez or Marquez. Saying you want to fight and actually trying to make a fight are 2 different things.
Re: Penalosa looking for Juanma Lopez!!!!!!!!!
It seems to me Marquez and Vazquez are too busy fighting eachother, this is why I don't advocate people fighting eachother more than three times in a row, even three times is excessive in most cases, and these two need to let fresh blood into the mix.

true this, but i think he still intends to stay in the fight game while he trains Nonito.. who just fired his father as his triainer..
they have all had enough fights to know how to train and manage their bodies right so penalosa and nonito training along side eachother is a fine enough idea

I respect their wars, they were phenomenal some of the best boxing in recent years all 3 of them. As posted on numberous threads here Vazquez is awaiting surgery on his eye. He is an official Emeritus Champ like Vitali was giving him a shot to fight in an eliminator immediately following his return. The issue is he may never be the same, he has a retinal tear which is serious business and surgical repair is not a certainty.
Rafa is probably going to be out of the game for a while longer, and I doubt he will still have the reaction time he had going into the first conflict with Vazquez. Five wars in a row 2 against Mabuza and 3 against Vazquez will take there toll on anyone. 2009 will show a definate changing of the guard at 122.
Re: Penalosa looking for Juanma Lopez!!!!!!!!!
Sad to hear when prime fighters are slowed down by the great ring wars ('QUEZ WARS) that they were in.
The retinal surgery that Vasquez is scheduled for will not mean an end by any means. Sugar Ray Leonard did comeback from a similar reconstructive surgery. I believe he even achieved a champion status again after it, if memory serves...
It will all be good. Good things happen to good people!
