MY VID - need help and tips pls
I just start practice boxing 3days ago
As i see my vid i notice my wrong like jabbing to low, hitting too low, sometimes my other hand is down when i jab and my bob and weave is kinda funny also.
If any are kind enough please advice me on how should i correct them, as i really have no knowledge at all im starting from level 0.

Re: MY VID - need help and tips pls
Hello there and welcome to the training section,
I think you should slow down. Naturally you seem to have nice fast hands and you seem to like throwing numbers of punches at a time.
There is nothing actually wrong with that, but in the beginning it may hinder learning the correct form for punches.
When I shadowbox I always box slow and keep combinations short as I feel I have more of a chance to identify an incorrect punch this way.
Attempt to learn a jab first, just the jab!
If you have a good jab it will make things an awful lot easier.
Re: MY VID - need help and tips pls
certainly not the worst beginner ever. but at the same time, we couldn't possibly begin to comment on all the little things you need to correct, and all the other things you need to learn.
this is why you need to get to a gym and get proper instruction.
beyond that, I would highly suggest you move your heavybag to a room without a dining room set.
Re: MY VID - need help and tips pls
That room looks way too good to be hitting a bag in ;)
But still you certainly aren't the worst mate, you just need to practise each punch individually first. Start with the straight punches, 2 rounds of jabs only, 2 rounds of rights only then 2 rounds of straight punches. Try that for a couple of weeks. Pay special attention to your footwork and hand position, as if you get taught incorrectly now, the bad habits will be even harder to break. But keep it up mate, you looked good, just remember no one is born a champion, they are made through hard work.
Re: MY VID - need help and tips pls
It doesnt look bad for a beginner
Honestly it doesnt
The things that jumped out at me, you dont drive a single shot, everything is at best tippy tap,and you let yourself get frustrated quickly and easily,I can see it in your bodies cant, the head shake the slump of the shoulders, you dont have time for that in the ring. You have to believe your the baddest son of a bitch who's coming out tonight.
This isnt an insult, you have some natural talent, but you really need someone to hone it a bit. Im guessing your self training, find someone whose brain you can pick. You really arent that far from being being able to rock and roll, you just need somebody shaving off the rough edges.
Re: MY VID - need help and tips pls
thanks i now found a gym in my area but they mainly teach kickboxing and jiu jitsu not the usual boxing, i haven't yet found a gym for boxing. Should i try it even though its trainers are for kickboxing?
Also i tried asked my friend to hit me to see if i can take punches, i found that i can take very hard punches at the temple and forehead, but when he starts hitting me in the chin with small soft jabs and cross it hurts from the inside of my head like a migrain. Is this normal? Would the pain go away if i get used to it?
And also i use 8oz gloves for heavy bag is that ok? because my hands are hurting i can longer hit the bag now i use no wraps i dont yet have one and i dont know how to appy them. xD

haha personally I wouldn't let my friends hit me in the head unless I can hit them back. The phrase goes however "the punch you don't see, is the one that hurts the most". To see if you can take a punch you need sparring plain and simple, so try find a boxing gym if you can as that is the only way you will get better in real fight situations.
Ohh and yes the headache is normal, it's called blunt force trauma, it's why boxers use defence.
Re: MY VID - need help and tips pls
this is really weird i tried hitting my chin and it hurts, i remember back when i was in H.S. i got hit on the mouth and chin many times in fist fights and it never hurt like this also i remember i tried hitting my chin before with full force when i got mad and it never hurt im mean my face did hurt but not my brain. That was way back when i was in highschool and playing basketball in our shcool.
Now in college ive been inactive and smoking heavily for 2years now i think proabably its the nicotine in my brain this may be the reason because when i started training even just skipping the rope hurts my head but after days since i quit it seems to go away. But this chin thing really bothers me i will give this 3 months if it still hurts maybe i should just find some other sport. I also drink lots of coffee along with smoking cigs do u think these are factos why my brain became sensitive?

Trust me mate don't even think about this right now, unless you really have a glass jaw it's not going to have that much effect unless you like eating shots all day. Those who are said to have iron chins have had to prove this, look at margo for a prime example, how many flush shots did he have to take to prove it? Did floyd have to prove he has a great chin though? no because he has the defencive skill to not be constantly hit flush every round. Boxing is all about dedication and hard work my friend, so don't think about quitting now, get in front of a mirror and start practising that technique, get your fitness up. Many AM fights are won on fitness in the end, especially with the upcoming 3x3's.
Re: MY VID - need help and tips pls
I wont be quitting but its kinda weird i will give it time though its probably all the nicotine and caffine that are binding inside my brain making it sensitive to pain.I remember i punch my chin and face so hard back then when i got mad and it never hurt only my face hurt and now just a sloppy hit and it hurts from the inside. A hard punch i dunno would probably knock me out because of the pain. It is just pain i dont feel any dizziness or something like that just pure pain like a migrane. :-\
Re: MY VID - need help and tips pls
Are you serious?
You asked someone to hit you?
Man thats rediculous.
Re: MY VID - need help and tips pls
i just wanted to know if i can take a hit, anyway i found a gym now i will be starting tommorow it is 20$ per month im exicted haha.;D
Re: MY VID - need help and tips pls
Good...a gym is the place and good luck. And no worries about being hit. You'll soon find others more then happy to test your chin for you in the square circle. ;)
