Does Pacquiao deserve a 60% share in a fight against Hatton?
Not at all. He is a quality fighter facing another hugely popular fighter. That other fighter is top of the pile at 140 where Pac wants to fight though, its a 50:50 split.
I don't think he deserves 60-40. It should be 50-50. Hatton is the kingpin at 140. Pacquiao is coming to 140. Pacquiao is P4P #1, but in terms of fans, I think they're equal. Hatton did 850,000 with Mayweather. Pacquiao hasn't done more than 400,000 without ODLH. I don't understand how he feels he deserves 50-50. If I were Hatton, I wouldn't take the fight unless it's 50-50 just on principle.
And Pac wouldnt get a bigger fight elsewhere. I hope its just accountants talk we are dealing with and it gets settled soon. Ive been to the Philipines and its pretty cheap out there, god knows what Pac needs the 60% for! Its just crazy talk. With UK accountancy Hatton needs the bigger share!
I think Hatton needs Pac alot more than Pac needs Hatton, Hatton doesn't have any other huge fights out there(unless he moves up but don't think he will again) Pac on the other hand has alot of big options(PBF,Marquez 3) what percent did HAtton take against PBF?
I can't see any reason to justify Pac claiming 60%
He's not the one with the title.
I don't believe he's the bigger draw.
He's actually more accustomed to fighting in the U.S. than Hatton.
If Pac wants 60% he should put on a championship stake, the winner walks away with 60% the loser 40%
Hell yea he does....and so does hatton for that matter. What i mean is these guys after all the hard work and punches they have taken deserve whatever they can weasel their way into right or not. But in this case a 50/50 seems more than fair since both bring a ton to the table. Let's talk about baseball ..when it comes to money not deserved.
50:50 split...
I wonder how many of the yes votes were from pac fan poys... If you asked them whether Pac deserved all of the world's wealth they would still say yes.
Hatton's deserves a 50/50 split he is the number 1 at LW and its his belt on the line.Manny is P4P number 1 i know but Hatton will bring 1000s of fans from the UK with him then there is the PPV from the UK.
If Pacquiao tries to get a fight with Mayweather there is no way he would get a 60-40% in his favor it would be Mayweather that would get the higher pertentage,so why try this against Hatton.
No Pac is making his excuses and pricing himself out.
I can't see an argument why it should be anything other than 50:50. Pac is p4p no.1 & obviously doesn't deserve anything less than half of what's on offer, but the simple fact is that with ODLH probably either retired or 1 fight away from it, Hatton is now the biggest draw in the sport in terms of the numbers of fans he brings to a fight & the PPV numbers he does (in the UK at least).
Also, I don't know how it is in the States, but in the UK, Pacquiao lacks the basic name recognition that other boxers like Shane Mosley, PBF & RJJ have amongst your general sports fans who will maybe buy an event like that.
Like I say that is in the UK though. I mean I don't know the difference between Hatton & Pacquiao in the US in terms of name recognition, but I'd be interested to know if someone impartial could tell me.
Who gives a fukk? Just fight so I can see one of them lose.
It should be 50/50. Hatton is the bigger draw and will pull in more PPV buys, but Pac is the more accomplished boxer. Pac won't get more money fighting someone else. Hatton could prob get the same money fighting Oscar at Wembley...even after what happened on Dec 6th.
If Ricky takes less he's stupid. I honestly can't see a way in which he wins this fight and he won't be in a good position to bargain if he continues to fight on after this one.
