Vazquez promises Marquez a 4th fight

Interview with Israel Vasquez in Boxing News magazine's Big Feature (9th January, not tomorrows one) states that they have become good friends and Marquez asked him straight out if he could have a 4th fight and Izzy agreed to it as soon as his eye heals.

Ramiro Gonzalez, Public Relations Director at Golden Boy said "Just for the record, he spoke directly with Rafael - they have become such close friends - and Rafael was asking him, 'Israel, can I have a fourth fight?' and Israel said 'Absolutely. Just wait until I heal'.

Israel added: "Obviously I want to face the best in my division and with (co-promotors) Sycuan (his contract expires with them in June), Golden Boy, (and manager) Frank Espinoza, eventually I would like to face all the champions."

I don't have a link because its from the magazine, but I'm sure someone else on this site can verify that.

...and then a fifth and sixth, the previous three have been awesome but i'm kinda getting tired of seeing these two. Are we that starved for good match ups, these two could put on a war probaby 10 times in a row but that doesn't mean we need to see them all. Of course i'll be watching like the first three lol !!

I wouldnt mind watchin Vazquez vs. Marquez IV:)

I know what you mean, but I don't think you can complain too much about seeing another fight between these two. If they do it again though, it has to be the final time.

was there ever 2 boxers who frought each other 4 times???

when i ask this question please exclude like DQ's or injuries =)

I'm pretty sure Larios and Vazquez have fought 4 times with Larios being injured the last. I could be wrong on that, it might be 3 but yes lots of fighters have rematched multiple times if you look at some old fighters' records they have guys they fought multiple times all over the place.

Marquez deserves a 4th fight. I had him winning the last one. But he should fight at least once while waiting for Vazquez to heal

And Vazquez-Larios only fought 3 times. Jesse James Leija and Azumah Nelson fought 4 times. Leija won the series 2-1-1
