A Chicken pecked my eye ball!!

We have 8 laying hens. Got them at 1 week old. So after visiting the lovely lady's folks at the beautiful mid north coast of NSW Australia (Valla Beach for those who know) we got home yesterday afternoon after driving the 400 k's to get home. It was pretty warm here about 36 degrees celcius. I was catching up on internet stuff and the lovely lady and little girl wanted me outside so out i go. So I get a cold beer and join them. The chooks come around and so i pat them and one is at my left shoulder so i turn to pat it and WHAM fucking pecked me in the eye ball. Shit it hurt and i'm screaming and for some reason kept hold of the beer. The lovely lady grabs the beer and throws it gets me a bowl of water and a washer (flannel for the brits) and i wash it. Stings like hell. Anyway saw the optomotrist today and its all good just burst blood vessels. I feel like chicken tonight like chicken tonight.

They are fully grown now BTW!

Sounds painfull mate. Im building a chicken coup this weekend. Going to get three egg layers. Ive found Im going all 'the good life' in my 30's.

Im selling an old car we have. The person who called aske why Im selling it. I said Im trying to raise some cash to build a chicken coup. She said thats a coincidence, our friend builds them for a living, do you want any materials? I said yes like a shot so they are turning up tommorow to give me money for the car and material for my coup.

A right result I'd call that.

Man that sounds like a long way to drive to get chickens, but it sounds like it was worth it.

yow! That sounds really scary! I never had a chicken peck my eyeball, but I did have a cat put a nice scratch across my eyelid once, bringing up a nice little streak of blood. I guess I saw it coming and closed my eye in time.

Damn that sux dude. I would have atleast killed the chicken or set it on fire.

Hopefully your vision will return fully and you won't be a shell of your former self. I bet the doctor presented you with a sharp bill as well?

Thanks guys. Had an optometrist check the eye out and aside from burst blood vessels it all seems fine at this stage. The guy said if it was him it would have been ready for dinner by now. Hee hee, that's sure how I felt but i'm outnumbered and there are only 8 so not enough for one to "go missing". they all pretty much look the same too so how would i pick out the culprit?

I was thinking a number three fairway iron would be a good way but reading on you have lost sight of him ;-).:p

Oh well vengence is a dish best eaten cold , you no doubt will get them one at a time anyway.:lickish:
