Enzo Maccarinelli plans to fight in cage!!

Hi their folks!I've just read in today's paper that Big Enzo Maccarinelli has a lot of interest in either UFC and MMA and fancies a go of it sometime.He said that he's concentrating on regaining his world cruiserweight title back in march against Argentinian boxer Emilio Ramirez on march the 14th.Big Mac has already had talks with UFC president Dana White about switching codes but insisted that boxing is his 1st priority.Enzo said,"I've had a offer from MMA(Mixed Matial Arts)and UFC and i seriously thought about it but its not something i really want at this moment in time."I've done Ju-Jitsu and have done a couple of lessons a week for fitness so im pretty good on the floor at grappling."


What do you guys think?He has the power no dought about that.I can see him doing it sooner or later.I've always felt a bit sorry for Enzo,he's always up for a fight but in the last year or soo he has'nt been able to keep himself active enough due to his opponants running away!!

Seems to me a lot of those top UFC guys like to fight standing up. Punching being their main asset (Chuck Liddel).. obviously they kick too, but i would think a fast handed boxer like Enzo, with those small gloves, would have a good chance of sparking these guys out - IF they elected to stand up of course.

Obviously they would probably just take him down and proceed to beat the shit out of him.. or twist his ankle or something.

Would you look to use stand up against a boxer? The first person he's in with looks to shoot within 3 seconds.
I can't seem he making a switch unless he's really keen/his career hits he skids.
There's good money in mma now.

No.. i said it was OBVIOUS the MMA guy would take the boxer down. But that is boringly predictable. So i was rolling with it to give the boxer a chance ;)

I've read the biggest UFC STARS are on a couple of hundred thousand dollars.. i'm sure even a NON boxing star like Enzo made more than that against Haye?

I'm putting you in a cage.;D

As Fenster already alluded to, Enzo could be competitive in Light Heavy UFC ranks.

Evans and Rampage are primarily standup fighters, as is Forresst, Lidell, Alexander etc.


Look at Lidell, he was rarely, rarely taken off his feet and see how dominant he was!

I can really see Enzo Mac turning to UFC soon,maybe after he gets back his cruiserweight title and defending it for a couple of bouts.Enzo has the height,weight,punch power and the chin to do well at UFC!lLike i mentioned earlier,Enzo has found it really really frustrating over the past year of lack of opponants to fight in boxing,soo i can really see him changing codes soon,especially when he said he has great interest of the MMA and UFC!!
