Another one of England's prospects
Re: Another one of England's prospects
Price , who fights under the Hayemaker banner is a decent prospect and has a decent jab and huge reach and decent power too.
Think he's 6ft 5 or something and has very good amateur pedigree so i'd expect him to be capable of getting himself into the top 10 one day.
As we all know the Pro game is very different so time will tell but the signs are there so fingers crossed.
Seems a nice fella too:cool:
Re: Another one of England's prospects
Did he beat Tyson Fury in the Olympic Trials? Think he did :-\
Re: Another one of England's prospects
I don't think Fury has had many Am fights though.. 20 or so?
I didn't like the look of Price in the olympics. I think he will have to markedly adapt his style if he's to have success in the pros.
Re: Another one of England's prospects
Good signing for Haye's new promotions!Hope he does good,im sure he'll convert into the pro game like a duck to water!;)

same here
seems tailor made for amateur boxing as he likes to pick his shots and take his time.
Someone like tyson fury who may even be not as technically good as david will go further because he seems like he can fight as well as box and wont be afraid to get his hands dirty.
Genuinely think the same things about jeffries and degale, only really see frankie gavin making a big impact at pro.
Re: Another one of England's prospects
I think Frankie Gavin has world class written all over him:cool:
Best of the bunch by far and he's brilliant to watch.
Think he may go all the way!
Re: Another one of England's prospects
Price is from my hoemtown of Liverpool. A born and bred scouser like myself
He will go far, he will be sparring with Haye and being trained by Adam Booth. I met him last year and got a signed glove. He is one tall fucker whose height and power will cause most heavyweights problems.
As for that Tyson Fury I bet most of you don't know this but David Price actually knocked him out in 2 rounds at the amateurs. Fury is just all hype.

KO'd him in 2 rounds.
Re: Another one of England's prospects
I think they think Gavin will be the bollocks too.
Is it a coincidence the first show for these amateur stars is happening in Birmingham? ;)

How many fights had Fury had? He had hardly any amateur fights overall.
Be a good fight to hype for an early pro career meeting. ;)

A boxing journalist (Nick Peet) in the Liverpol Echo said he won by KO in his column a while ago.
