I had a blast on the Atari 2600.

I'm a Fight Night 2 and 3 junkie...I love career mode and creating fighters. What's better than creating fighters that look like you and your friends, drinking beer, and punching each other without waking up with bruises?
Re: Best Boxing Video Games
TrainerMonkey,
Aaaaaaaaw, the memories. I think I still remember how to beat each of them. It was not just, get in there and throw all the punches you can but more of learning their moves and all. Good times! Bald Bull reminds me of Marvin Hagler.
CGM,
Oh man! I didn't even played that one! Nice :) .

I know, huh? I played one of those before, forgot which one, and liked how you can pick real pro boxers. Even their taunt moves are accurate for each boxer. Pac raises his arms to the sides, RoyJones dropping his hands, etc. I like it when you connect a power punch in slow mo.
Re: Best Boxing Video Games
"Ring king" hands down;D. Many, many a token dropped in the arcade on that one.Used to be one called "George Foremans KO" for Nintendo...had to be the easiest ever made:fight:
Re: Best Boxing Video Games
YEah Chino, I was never a big gamer, to this day I prefer games that are really easy to operate. The Atari 2600 was late 70s and early 80s. This was back in the day when the Radio Shack TRS-80 with a whopping 16k of RAM ruled the home computer market. The boxing game had oly one button for punching, plus the joystick for moving around. Whichever arm was closest to the opponent would throw the punch.
Re: Best Boxing Video Games
In an arcade by me they actually have a game where you put on gloves and stand in a square thaty has sensors...You duck the screen guy ducks,,,You jab he jabs, Uppercuts, etc...
You use the Philly shell he does too....
The hardest part is when you get your guy stunned you have the KO moment and you have to throw a combo in a certain order for a certain amount of time...Tires the shit out of you...
Once I reached the title shot eliminator stage you had to throw the combo for 30 seconds...came to like 60 jabs 25 hooks, 25 straight rights and one big 10 punch combo at the end...stop for a half second you have to start over....
Pisses you off but it is fun as all shit,,,,,By time you are on your third fight the whole place is sitting around you....
To make matters worse the gloves are like 3lbs due to the connetors and stuff inside (Though they are only about as thick as UFC gloves
