Watched Barrera last night and I have to say... that he is not the same fighter and should just hang them up. He did nothing against a cab driver. I am not sure I want to see him against Ameer Con. I guess we might not get to see that fight anyway thanks to the cut in on Barrera's forehead. Last nights fight was just painful to watch.
Hope MAB retires.
I am not saying that Barrera could not hang with Con but can't the Con artist find someone who is hungry and or a little younger?
In his defense the guy he fought was 1-7 but ahd only been stopped once and MAB would have caught up with him and stopped him later if it had gone on imo. He didnt have one punch power in his prime, so at lightweight its no surprise that hes no killer. He didnt look great, but he didnt look worse than I thought he would either. He also didnt appear as soft as he did in his last fight.

That wasnt Barrera at his best though . Who ever performs at their best when they fight a 1-7 bum. That guy may have been stopped b4 in the past but it wasnt within the opening minute of the 1st round like Khans was.Quote:

I wouldn't knock him too much ...... I must have been beaten up by at least ten cab drivers (when so steaming drunk that drunkenly shambling down the road in an attempt to avoid paying the fare seems like a good idea)

I hope so too but got the feeling he will. Amir has a real suspect chin and his promoter has tried to protect him by fighting blown up super featherweights. Barrera has recently retired and trying to get in shape, he was never a big one puncher, but his pride alone will make him stretch Amir to the limits. I'm British, and I love the fact we have Hatton and Calzaghe but Khan will never be anywhere near either. Anyone with an ounce of sense knows a prime guy at his weight plants his fucking arse on the canvas. I don't want to see MAB lose to such a person as Khan. Khan has nothing on Barrera in any respect.

It's time to retire. He has taken some bad beatings in his long career. Marciano and Monzon were smart. They retired and just walked away for good.

No matter how bad he looked Khan has never been any where near anyone of his quality ever before and it will show if the fight still goes ahead!
