If Jennings is anything like in his fight against Gavin Down...
I just watched Jennings vs Down, I know old fight, how old? Let's just say the week after, Hatton was fighting KT on SHO.
Anyway, if this Jennings kid is still anything like he was against Down, Cotto is going to have a good night and it will be good night for Jennings. Jennings is open for the left hook to the face and open for the straight right and over hand right both of these in counters. Jennings is pretty fast and has a decent jab and he himself likes to counter but, I think Cotto will be just a little too fast for Jennings and should put on a great display for the crowd. I look for Cotto to counter and pick this kid off like he did to Gomez ;D Cotto has been in there with fighters much faster than Jennings and has been able to come up with the win every time. Cotto by TKO in the 6th.

As far as WORLD class goes , Jennings brings the following to the Cotto fight.
zero

Jennings is one of those guys who you feel was pushed into boxing cuause he was being taken for a mug at school.
Re: If Jennings is anything like in his fight against Gavin Down...
nice payday for him, he'll probably take a hard body shot early and stay down, Hopefully he's a bit game though and we get a decent look at how Cotto is
Re: If Jennings is anything like in his fight against Gavin Down...
very hardworking resilient worker who`ll manage at least 5-6 rounds.
But if cotto brings even an average performance to the table for his standards it should be more than enough for him to have a comfortable night!

Cotto will take him apart.
Jennings might last till round 5.

for the fact its a 147 fight i give him till 6.
Had however this been at 168,175 fight it would ne all over before it even got started
Re: If Jennings is anything like in his fight against Gavin Down...
Jennings has as a good chance .... of going the distance. He throws fast straight punches and will land against the hooks of Cotto. Trust me.
Re: If Jennings is anything like in his fight against Gavin Down...
He might land but he wont hurt Cotto.Soon as Cotto starts to land clean Jennings wont be lasting long.Has the speed and a decent jab to make cotto think a little but Cotto is world class and Jennings isnt, and has never fought in the big league.
Re: If Jennings is anything like in his fight against Gavin Down...
I give him very little chance at beating Cotto. I hope he makes a good account of himself, thats pretty much the most sucess he can get out of this fight.
Re: If Jennings is anything like in his fight against Gavin Down...
Jennings ain't no fraud. He won't disgrace himself whatsoever. I seen about 15 of his fights.
He'll go down with a fight...I got Cotto by KO late rounds.... But I wouldn't be surprised to see Jennings take it to the scorecards....he aint no Gary Lockett.
The bodyshots is my main concern and that IMO will be the difference. Jennings wont constantly be able to handle them.
Re: If Jennings is anything like in his fight against Gavin Down...
I think that Cotto will going do to Jennings worse than he did to Alfonso Gomez........IMO;)
Re: If Jennings is anything like in his fight against Gavin Down...
Jennings will win by 1st round knockout.

lefty
Seen a fair few of his fights on Khan, froch undercards and he looks a really good british prospect that hasnt quite had the breaks over the years.
Im talking british/european/commonwealth fights that havent quite happened hear..not jumping from complete nobodys to miguel cotto.
Alfonso Gomez brought a few solid wins to the table when he fought miguel, this is just farcical if you just ask me though and cotto is really selling his fans short here.
Im all for easing yourself back in after your first defeat, but lets be fair here hatton got picked apart on here when he fought lazcano who is a solid world contender and has been for many years. Cotto on the otherhand has pretty much just thrown a pin at a whole list of names and came up with michael jennings and its not right!
