Jones-Sheika: A Farewell Fight or a Prelude To Jones-Hopkins II?
Initially when I heard that Jones will be fighting Sheika in Roys hometown of Pensacola, Fl. I figured it would be his chance to leave the sport with a win in an entertaining fight for the fans in his backyard. Sheika is no easy win but I think its a fight Jones is confident he can win. I think this was planned to be his last hurrah and he was going to call it a day after the fight. Now that Calzaghe is retired, that may change. Hopkins will be looking for another "meaningful" fight against another older fighter. Roy doesnt have the drawing power he used to, and after the loss to Calzaghe he has even less. Still the only fight for him that would generate interest is a rematch with Hopkins (Although true fans know that even if Jones beats Sheika hes not the guy he used to be). With both men in their 40s and only one still performing well, a fight would have no real importance in the boxing landscape but I bet Hopkins would still like to avenge his loss even at this stage. I also bet that if Roy bets Sheika, his confidence will be restored a bit and he may be up for the challenge. I honestly have no interest in seeing either one of these guys fight again and wish they would both go the way of Calzaghe and retire. Im just speculating..

I doubt it, but if anyone can sell that fight it would be Hopkins and Jones

would love to see jones-hopkins just go out on a blaze of fire and fight eachother and give us an entertaining fight.
Both guys could leave the sport with their heads held high and legacy in tact.
Other than this i just dont see the point of either guy pursuing their careers!!

I just hope they both retire before one ends up getting hurt

bernard hopkins could go on till his 50 and never suffer any sort of severe injury because of his style that he fights at.
Jones is the worry now, he looked out on his feet against Calzaghe and purely relying on instinct. It would only take sheika to land with a johnson like sucker punch and RJJ could end up losing vision in an eye or even worse!
Re: Jones-Sheika: A Farewell Fight or a Prelude To Jones-Hopkins II?
to be honest I think Hopkins would stop RJJ easily, I don't think he'd carry him like Calzaghe did. I'd like to see Jones win against Sheika and retire, and Hopkins maybe having one last fight with bad Chad...

Jones - Hopkins 2 won't happen.
Hopkins i'm sure said he doesn't want to fight Jones because he is clearly past it.
Re: Jones-Sheika: A Farewell Fight or a Prelude To Jones-Hopkins II?
God I hope not.I think Hopkins would torture Jones at this stage.

Yes you’re right, as a RJJ & BCD fan I agree with you.

Hopkins would stop Jones in less then 6 rounds
