USA thump Mexico in 2010 World Cup Qualifying!
Michael Bradley one of the future stars of American soccer played a brilliant game scoring 2 goals vs Mexico.
I wanted to see more of the young STARS of our national team (such as Jozy Altidore) but as usual was denied. Even with Mexico down a man we didn't throw everyone at the goal and we didn't go for the kill early enough but never the less it was a good game and we won handily.
P.S., I heard that Svenn is out as coach of Mexico after that loss...but I might be wrong
Re: USA thump Mexico in 2010 World Cup Qualifying!
elated with the win but we need more focus. Mexico should have had 1-2 goals easy...Curious if Adu will make the team?
Re: USA thump Mexico in 2010 World Cup Qualifying!
Here's the team I would use:
Strikers: Clint Dempsey & Jozy Altidore
CAM: Landon Donovan
RM: Sacha Kljestan LM: Demarcus Beasley
DM: Michael Bradley
RB: Steve Cherundolo LB: Heath Pearce
CB: Oguchi Onyewu CB: Carlos Bocanegra
Reserves: Freddy Adu (CAM/LM), Maurice Edu (DM), Marvell Wynn (DB), Brad Guzan (GK), Eddie Johnson (ST)
......but that's just me. I want to see the younger guys start carrying their weight so they gain experience.
Re: USA thump Mexico in 2010 World Cup Qualifying!
I might throw in Benny Feilhaber, Dax McCarty, or Danny Szetela in reserve positions on occasion as well

Pretty boring game and it seems that Mexico is actually getting worst before they get any better.
You can't show with a team that's only practiced once before and think you can beat a team who have been playing for about 4 yrs. now and keep getting stronger and stronger.
Mexico looked like a schoolyard team no idea behind their passing every pass was a long ball pass just up to the top hoping the forwards would slip one by and score.
Dos Santos played a shitty game, Neri Castillo the star player pulled a muscle and Rafa Marquez the stupid cunt got red carded for kicking the keeper.
The US should have gone for the kill IMO, and sent out a message that they are there to beat the shit out of their opponents. Weather the instructions were to hold back OR the US just couldn't finish is to be seen.

Italy got man handled by Brazil...
What a sweet as goal by Robinho that was.
Rookie mistake by "Twinkle Toes" Pirlo there losing the ball.
He had 3 players on him and just left them tangled and not even Gigi could stop the shot.

Who do you support Mick in games between your two countries?

Its a sad state of affairs given our goalkeeping tradition that David James is the best we've got. Upson, Johnson, Jagielka (on last nights showing) Lampard Carrick Barry Agbonglahor Cole shouldnt get near an England shirt let along pull one on the have a crack at one of the best teams in the world.

Was poor last night mate:mad:
No passion and the players simply don't give a fuck about representing their country anymore.
Overpaid at club level and the prem and champions league has now firmly pushed playing for your country into a poor second place.
I think our "Star" players look better in the premier games because of who they have playing around them..
Look who Rooney has around him at Utd for example;)
Looked like a bunch of missfits and i don't think we strung together more than 10 passes all game and when we did we were going backwards with the ball;D

Its good for us as we have Italy in our group, but we robbed Georgia last night, well the ref did, we went 1-0 down in the first min then had a lot of possesion but never really looked like scoring untill the ref gave us a penilty for "handball" ;D still Keane played shit but scored it and then got us a winner!
We need to get Steve Ireland back though, our centre mid is bad and Trap won't play Reid...

ABSOLUTELY! I want the US to go into each match thinking "we're going to score more goals than the other team" and not "we're going to defend and lay back until a chance comes to us"......you have to make your own chances.
The problem with going for the kill in this game is that Mexico doesn't like us.....their goalie tried to tackle Eddie Johnson a few years back, Marquez tried to spike the goalie, and you just don't want the game to get out of hand
