Taxing us on the number of miles we drive...

Today on the radio, I heard rumors that the government may start taxing everyone on the number of miles they drive. I doubt this dumb ass law will get passed (I pray it doesn't), but I have 2 questions about this law:

1. How are they going to know how many miles is on the odometer of our vehicles?

2. What if we just rig our odometers to turn much slower (For example, it might only read that I've driven 3 miles when I've really driven 10).

Already highly illegal, and becoming harder and harder to do in newer cars.

Moot point,the administration has allready said they have no intention of doing it

In the US maybe but here in the UK this is still on the table

lol. Well get taxed on how much air we breathe next. seems mad to me the goverment tax road users out of being able to afford to run a car..and them pump millions and millions of pounds into the motor industries cos people arnt buying cars...:confused:

Won't it be awesome....more taxes will be great for the economy and everyone will be just as broke as their neighbors!!! Liberalism at work! First you tell us not to drive big old SUV's and now you tell us that we're going to drive little plastic cars and we're going to get taxed MORE because they have better gas mileage.....wonderful man you can never run out of things to tax can you?

LOL, exactly.. but if it ever happened, it would be sugar coated with a stipulation where if you have an SUV you pay more.. that will be the justification haha.
