New York
Ok all as you may recall I WAS off to New York last year but due to booking time off work before booking the holiday wound up going to Turkey instead. This year no slip ups and we're off to NYC on May 28th.
Let yer man Memphis know whats a must see/do. Obviously we'll be taking in a fight or two, from what Ive found we cant see the Yankees whilst we are there so it looks like the Mets. We'll do the usual, Empire State, Liberty, Rockafeller, sandwich at Katz ;D
I want some other things that are a bit off the beaten track. Im thinking of taking a trip into Philly to do the Rocky bit, just over an hour away I think? Was toying with the idea of going to Canastota but its a fair trek and the induction is a couple of weeks after we go so......
What say you Saddo brothers and sisters.

Re: New York
I always make fun of Rocky cuz I think it's a sham on boxing...but admit i'd prob. like to see and do the tour also. The other night I went to see my cousin in a play at her highschool and once again must admit I enjoyed it lol. So yea...go see a broadway play and sing at the top of your lungs throughout! :gay5:

Re: New York
Do the Rocky tour Memphis it's a must ;) Worth hiring a car for that with sat nav -its just under 100 miles to Philly and we drove it in just over two hours. Driving is piece of piss...but trust me on the sat nav...;D
check out my album on facebook
If you need it I have a map I can email you with all the locations pinpointed - Windsor Suites is a decent hotel just on the Ben Franklin Parkway which is a perfect location.
Are yankee tickets difficult to get hold of ?
Wouldnt bother going up the Rockefeller - nothing compared to empire state (best done at night). i went up and thought it was a right con
Get the subway over to Brooklyn Heights and walk back over the bridge thats good to do. Buy a day pass for subway
Grand central worth a visit
Natural history museum is shite
Visit Ghostbusters HQ ;)
Wouldnt bother actually going to Liberty Island - just get the Staten Island ferry for great views going past
Central park is a day out in itself
I found it effing expensive this time mind
Will PM you the hotel I stayed at - average but perfect location. Great sports bar 30 seconds from door though ;) Me and my mate spent a long evening in there and were hit with a $134 bill on staggered departure....

Re: New York
Cheers Mark, can you email me the map matt_cotterell@live.co.uk
I checked the Yankees schedule and they are on the road for the time that we are there. Ive no idea how difficult getting tickets for the Mets will be, anyone?
We booked a hotel a couple of days ago, Eastgate Tower in Midtown, all the reviews seem positive and it was well priced.
Cant remember being this excited about a holiday to be honest.
