And Joan Guzman's career continues to work out for the best
so he was supposed to fight Yuri Romanov but apparently now the IBF has decided that even though the fight was to be in Las Vegas they are pulling him from it because of his suspension in Mississippi due to the whole Nate Campbell.
its on boxingscene, the article says that apparently no other commission was honoring the suspension which makes it an odd move by the IBF but the article is a bit vague.
What an overachiever. I certainly know how to pick my favorite fighters.
Re: And Joan Guzman's career continues to work out for the best
I know he's got titles and all but if his career doesn't end in a big note I will def. list him as a bust.
Re: And Joan Guzman's career continues to work out for the best
I really really like guzman, why can't something just get sorted so he can reach some sort of potential. Its baffling to say the least.
If he never does anything, he's gotta go down as one of the biggest wastes of talent in boxing.
Re: And Joan Guzman's career continues to work out for the best
Yuri Romanov is a better fighter and just as frustrating.
Re: And Joan Guzman's career continues to work out for the best
Man I want to back this guy so bad, but I can't...........all the talent in the world, and no platform to show it.
I think this analogy is fitting his career is like owning Fort Knox and forgetting the combination to open the safe.
Re: And Joan Guzman's career continues to work out for the best
This sounds like its out of Guzman's control.
Shame, in my mind he's potentially top 5 p4p no question, he could even be Marquez, Pacquaio level quality.
Hopefully he'll get his chance sometime this year.
I predicted that last year that him and Daniel Santos would both be p4p stars by the end of 09.
Not looking good at present but I have faith in them both,
Re: And Joan Guzman's career continues to work out for the best
I been gave up on Guzman. He's 32 and hasn't done shiit. He's very skilled. No doubt. He seriously needs to step up the comp. But it doesn't see like he really wants to. I don't consider it a coincidence that he failed to make weight for Nate Campbell but had no problem making it for Ameth Diaz. This guy has made his name off "what he can do" as oppose to what he has done.
Re: And Joan Guzman's career continues to work out for the best
Guzman really needs to step it up, although this isn't really his fault, & why the IBF has decided to this now, I'm fucked if i know. It really does look like he ain't gonna do it, which is such a shame given the raw natural talent he had. He could've been the successor to PBF for me, but he just never managed to step it up :-\

Yeah, I know, frustrated that it isn't working out, he's deserved blame before but not really here.
