Arreola signs to fight Mcline: Does this mean Haye - Wlad is close?
Just seen this on fightnews.
Arreloa to face McCline! | Fightnews - Boxing News Updated 24/7
Do you think that Wlad and Haye may be close? Wlad seemed certain it would be one or the other!
Re: Arreola signs to fight Mcline: Does this mean Haye - Wlad is close?
According to this...from 2 days ago mind, Haye has agreed to fight in Germany rather than pushing for the US which was apparently the main stumbling block in the negotiations....
Klitschko vs. Haye To Take Place In Berlin
Re: Arreola signs to fight Mcline: Does this mean Haye - Wlad is close?
So it seems Wlad's reign is soon at an end.
Re: Arreola signs to fight Mcline: Does this mean Haye - Wlad is close?
Ah this is where the debate starts!
I was of the utmost confidence that Haye would demolish the Klitschos when I heard he was goin to heavyweight, hes a huge puncher and has a great record, and then on his debut demolished Monte Barret, although, lets face it, he was less than good.
But as it gets closer I dunno, Klitscho is far more technical than Haye, but I dont think Wlad has had someone like Haye who's prepared to go at him viciously and throw big, mostly accurate bombs. If Haye catches him with one, could be lights out or he could be walking into a big Wlad jab plus straight right everytime he tries.
Re: Arreola signs to fight Mcline: Does this mean Haye - Wlad is close?
Wlad was in more danger when he fought Sam Peter
#1 Wlad was in a poor mental/psychological state after 2 KO losses
#2 Sam Peter was undefeated and seemingly unbeatable (yeah people thought that way)
#3 Wlad had shown very little improvement with new trainer Manny Steward in the fights that followed the Sanders loss.
#4 Haye has been KO'd by a cruiserweight an old one at that and he's been hurt by many fighters
#5 David Haye is usually wild and throwing bombs when the other fighters have very little chance of hurting him back.
#6 David Haye has very little experience as a heavyweight and he has never been hit by a guy like Wladimir.
My view of the fight is as follows....Haye starts out moving in to land shots, never gets his punches off, eats the jab, starts throwing one punch at a time, Haye clams up as the 1-2 starts landing frequently, and then Haye gets flattened

My understanding was contracts had been exchanged so looks like its pretty close to there. You can always rely on GBP to sort it out once they sniff some lovely currency for old Oscar ;)

I am very interested in this fight. This will be an exciting fight for as long as it lasts. McCline should lose this fight.

I still think Wlad is a vulnerable champ - if he gets caught with a bomb, it could really rattle him. But then again, Manny seems to have done an excellent job of repairing the psychological damage, and putting the brakes on Wlad has honestly made him a more dangerous fighter. Now he watches his defense and works his jab - patiently - before unloading the big gun. Haye might have a shot at it, but I see it happening the same way you do. Haye eats a few of those jabs, slows his own output, then eats a huge right or left hook to call it a night. That sounds about right.
Re: Arreola signs to fight Mcline: Does this mean Haye - Wlad is close?
back on over to Arreola, he better not get over confident goin in against McCline cause he can actually stop him, and if that happens it's pretty much a career ender at this point
Re: Arreola signs to fight Mcline: Does this mean Haye - Wlad is close?
McCline is definitely not a fighter to be taken lightly.

but honestly i don't think that McCline will ever get out of the journeyman status again, he's basically become the gatekeeper for the division
Re: Arreola signs to fight Mcline: Does this mean Haye - Wlad is close?
Yeah - I would be really surprised at this point if Haye/Wlad didnt happen.....Rich Schaeffer is going to work his magic.......
As far as Arreola, I agree he better not take Mccline lightly......Mccline is a serious step up for Chris...he better come in in shape...If Travis had slightly better technique/experience and better stamina we would not be talking about Chrissy anymore...;);)
I think it is a matter of time before Chris is stopped and falls off the face of the earth.....The guy has no discipline and is overhyped/overrated.....The fact that he is being embraced in the US shows how bad the US HW prospects are...;..

Yeah they are real bad at the moment. I see Arreola coming through this but I think he gets hurt if he steps it up any more than a McCline type fighter.
As for Haye - Wlad I can't wait because I get all Lyle's punch power points ha ha ha!

LOl I was on the Haye banwagon for while, But although I still like Haye, his performance against a Wladimir victim (Barrett) was nbothing more then mediocre, I just see it exactly as Lyle said.
