De La Hoya vs Trinidad II
considering where they both are in their careers I think this is the only fight either of them could legitimately go for tbh. Oscar gets one final huge payday and so does Trinidad. They don't have to be fighting top tier top 10 fighters and getting beaten, but they can at least settle their differences one last time. I think it would be a great send off fight for both fighters if it can happen. What do you guys think?
I think if either of them come back this should be the ONLY fight they go after otherwise Oscar should retire.
for nostalgia purposes i decided to link Trinidad's entrance vs Hopkins.
Who could forget that dance
YouTube - Felix Tito Trinidad Entrance vs Bernard Hopkins

Perfect. "Remdption vs Legacy"
Re: De La Hoya vs Trinidad II
Here in OZ i had the unfortunate experience of watching two former great fighters in Azumah Nelson and Jeff Fenech fight again in June 2008. Nelson was 50 and Fenech 45yrs old. It was sad and unnecessary as would any fight between De La Hoya and Trinidad.

and i can assure you it wont happen, Trinidad said that he "can't" make it to 160 and you know Oscar isn't gonna go anywhere higher than Middleweight, so this fight was lost after 2001
Re: De La Hoya vs Trinidad II
'Doubt it will happen. But Tito would win.
Re: De La Hoya vs Trinidad II
Read on the ring website that there maybe a possible match up between Oscar and Chavez Jnr. It would be a step up for Chavez Jnr and also a chance to get revenge for the beating his Father took at the hands of Oscar.
Re: De La Hoya vs Trinidad II
I think it would be a decent matchup, neither fighter has anywhere to go really. If either were to fight then it has the history and could be fun.
Who mentioned Chavez Jr against DLH? That is just horrible. Nobody needs to see that! :p
Re: De La Hoya vs Trinidad II
Oscar made minced meat out of this overrated, spindly-legged slugger in their first fight.
This time Oscar would make a shish kabob out of him.;D
Re: De La Hoya vs Trinidad II
I always felt that this rematch would occur at some point.
However, at this point I think the weight is a big issue. I don't think Tito has any desire to put in the hard work to get below 168-170 pounds, and I don't think Oscar has any desire to fight someone that heavy.
Re: De La Hoya vs Trinidad II
Would be a good one to go out on.But I can't see it happnin.
Tito was at L.Heavy last wernt he? no chance of getting down to what?..say middleweight wich is were DLH would want it. And no way is DLH gonna baloon up to L.Heavy

Yeah but that wasnt a bad fight, and both men were conditioned and came to fight.

Living in Australia it's difficult to see things impartially, as soon as there is any Australian involvement the hype goes over the top.Yeah they both got in decent shape but boxing is not tennis , I don't think we should have a seniors circuit, cant think of any old tennis players or golfers risking life for a last hourrah. This fight shouldn't have gone ahead and was driven by the Australian belief they are the best at all times, regardless of age .
