Re: Victor Ortiz and Pacman
I think it would be a good fight but as you mention Pac will most probably be past it or retired by the time Ortiz becomes big enough and/or popular enough to generate the sort of cash Pac would want. I think the chances of this fight happening are slim to none.

I'm very interested in Ortiz vs Pac, and think it could make for a great fight.. But, does anyone else have the hunch Pac may be retired by the time Ortiz is ready? Or even worse, starting to show his age?
They've spar years ago I think during the preparation for EM & David Diaz. Roach describe it as an amazing sparring worth of paying PPV money. Roach said the sparring shows Pac just too experienced against Ortiz.
Re: Victor Ortiz and Pacman
Ortiz needs to get in line.
Re: Victor Ortiz and Pacman
if ortiz-pac happened tommorow it would be a david diaz style beatdown from manny which wouldnt go beyond 8.
Ortiz is far from the finished article and way down the pecking order in terms of all round boxing prospects compared to the likes of gamboa, kirkland, angulo, berto if you ask me!!

He looks decent. but has a long way to go. Pac would most likely beat him up if they were to fight in the near future. Ortiz needs a few more decent fights against guys in the top ten before we know what he's capable of. I like what I see, but I can't see an Ortiz-Pac fight happening.

I absolutely agree and on the other hand the Victor’s promoter chooses very carefully his opponents (maybe too carefully); when Ortiz will be a shining star Pacman most probably will train his son. ;)
Re: Victor Ortiz and Pacman
This would be a good fight, unfortunately Pacman has too many important fights before it can take place in the next few years. I would love to see Ortiz-Cotto in a year or two if Ortiz becomes a beltholder at 140.

I'm very impressed with his left hand, but 'aint that quite ripe yet. He's still got some technical flaws, primarily in defense area. That's because he attack wrecklessly. He himself reminds me of a young Manny Pac.

i don't see that aaaat all, if anything he looks like a young southpaw version of Fernando Vargas
