Andre Ward vs Edison Miranda

Just saw this fight announced on ESPN Friday Night Fights.

I really don't know what to think about this fight. It's definately the most dangerous opponent of Ward's career and we don't know how well Ward holds up to punches yet and putting him against Miranda is not a good opponent to test it on. Credit for stepping up but for someone who hasn't been truly tested yet I think Miranda may be a step too far but with Andre Ward it could be now or never to break out but this is a risk more prospects should take.

What do people think of this fight?

i'm glad to hear about this match up. I like Wards work rate and he appears to have ok power, but I choose Miranda to knock him out.

If miranda is as slow at 168 as he was at 175 i give him no chance whatsoever and it should be a comfortable nights work.

But edison is a scraper who if he lands can punch you hard and i genuinely think he`ll be a much better SM than a middleweight.

Id go for pantera to take him late on!!

It’s hard to predict the winner of this kind of fights involving a recognized fighter and a very good prospect but not enough tested.
I like Andre Ward and I think he has the tools to beat Miranda and I think he will do it, unless Pantera will speculate Andre’s lack of experience.

I favot Miranda in this one but Ward will have a good showing of himself and it will let his team know exactly where he stands so far

Nice to see Ward stepping it up.

I really don't think Miranda is much good at world level, any of the top guys will beat him.

Ward will completely outbox him for the first 6 or 7 and then either step it up and finish him in the later rounds or else play safe and win an easy decision.

I really don't think Miranda will ever be a threat at world level again. Very much like Sam Peter he's been found out. Once the intimidation factor has gone neither offers a great deal and won't be in the top 10 for long.

The only worry I have for Ward's sake is that I would have expected him to be a little further along in his career or more tested by this point. It will show where Ward stands but Miranda can end it any second

This has always puzzled me, why have they gone slow with him? Do you think his handlers are aimless or do they not have confidence in him?

i think maybe injuries but still he needs to fight more. He should be further then Berto by now

I am very surprised I didn't think Ward would ever fight somewhere near the upper echeleon of middlweight's. It only took him five years to crack the top ten. When most of our olympian's who won gold were already in championship fight's within a few years. The fight hasn't happenend yet so I guess he could cancel and fight him in two more years.

About F**king time if you ask me.
