Wright vs Williams tonight.
You guys may thing I'm crazy, But I'm picking Wright tonight. One thing about Williams that bothers me is he is so wide open. It's easy for a fighter like Wright to counter punch Williams all night long. Plus Williams has a hard time vs lefthanders. Wright in a easy 12UD.

im picking Williams but honestly a Wright win is not out of the question, but i think that Paul's stamina is gonna pull him through into winning a UD, Wright sometimes waits too long to throw, and Williams is known for throwing 100 punches a round, i honestly see Wright waiting too long and not doing enough to get the decision
Re: Wright vs Williams tonight.
Williams may average 100 punches, but he won't average that many against Wright.
Re: Wright vs Williams tonight.
i think im gonna split my bet tongiht between wright winning a ud/sd and a draw
wright can be outworked, thats probably his biggest problem, however i dont think williams is in wrights class its just his style matches up well,
i may be wrong tho. we will see
Re: Wright vs Williams tonight.
I would go with Paul Williams to win this by UD. In a very very close fight.

it all depends on how the age and the time off has affected Wright IMO, but i think youth, stamina, and size will help Williams pull off a close UD

....williams loosing to carlos q , was the worst thing that could happen for all these opponets of williams, he as usual will take some good punches and shake them off his underrated chin and never stop throwing regardless of winky blocking or not all the way to a semi tough fought decison or late stoppage.
Re: Wright vs Williams tonight.
This has been set up to be Williams' night.
His "consecration", as Margarito put it before his fight with Cotto.
Williams has the height, youth, work ethic and stance to give any fighter fits and certainly seems to be favourite among boxing fans.
Its easy to discount Winky tonight - his age, recent losses, his inactivity and dropping the weight all contribute to the "logical" result.
However, I think Winky is really motivated, back at a suitable weight and Williams will not be protected by his southpaw stance against Winky.
I'd favour Williams, but if Winky can be physically competitve with Jermaine and Bernard then I certainly can see him bully and outbox Paul Williams.
Screw it...Winky UD12
Re: Wright vs Williams tonight.
Well , i was ones that been rooting Winky Wright , but congratulations for the fight that P.Williams made , was great , but is like i always said , i don't know how the hell most of boxers can have the strategy to fight with an more taller opponent without any Lateral movement , aggressively , uppercuts , no plan B and C and fighting as a target to a fighter that have more reach , speed , great combinations and the features that throw more punches by rounds ,...............i didn't see Winky throwing any uppercuts in that fight , always i heard his trainer , 1-2 , 1-2 and move your head when going inside , that was the only strategy to fight Williams ? Damn
I bring up to broach this , because if we remember the fight Quintana vs Williams , that was the way that Quintana could win Williams , but i don't know if Winky could make and keep this strategy until the limit of 12 rounds , i hope he can evaluate himself and determine his mistakes about this fight.......
I have to say that Winky took the wrong fight with Williams , though he knew that had almost 2 years without fight , he IMO need a preparatory fight first , before face Williams :-\
