How'd U Become World Champ???
I was looking up some records of fighters that had some of the crappiest competition ever before stepping in to the ring and claiming their first world title.
A couple of fighters come to mind, but I'd like to see what other people come up with.
Joseph Agbeko - set to fight Darchinyan 7-11-09; fought 17 opponents without a win 0-0 with a combined opponent record of 64-20 in 24 opponents beat Luis Alberto Perez for the IBF bantamweight strap.
Re: How'd U Become World Champ???
I think this kind of problem is always going to happen with african, and to a lesser extent fighters in some parts of Asia. Essentially, it's perfectly possible that many of those fighters he fought just hadn't fought someone important enough to get their fights recorded on boxrec.
If you have a look at the boxrec staff on the front page, they have one guy collating the results for South Africa, and no-one else on the whole continent. I would imagine that unless the promoters of these fighters actually contact boxrec to send them the results, then they won't be recorded, so I'm loath to believe that all those fighters he went in with were as novice as they seem, though the results for most does suggest that.

Fhana got a shot at Barrera when no one had heard of him
