Dealing with Right Hand happy opponent/boxers?
I've been thinking about guys who like to throw straight hands in both boxing and outside of boxing. If you look at things in the way of boxing, usually most boxers are orthodox and have the left foot forward and the rear foot back. Boxers usually set up the right hand by jabbing and moving in and out, or they throw the Cross as a counter punch when a guy moves in. But usually, the Cross will come after a lot of jabbing.
Now if we're talking just some guy who doesn't have boxing training throwing a right hand, he just throws it, which is awkward for a boxer to react to. We're so used to parrying the Jab with our right hand and throwing either a Left Hook or a Jab with our left, that it can easily throw someone off who throws just straight right hands, because we're not used to parrying and countering it.
So I'm looking for tips as to how to defend. Slipping on the outside of the Cross and throwing a Left Head Hook or a Left Body Hook takes a lot of practice to time accurately, and it works better for guys who are shorter and can move inside. It is also risking because it increases the chance of you getting hit. Moving to your right is good, but it seriously weakens the power of the Cross. So any other tips or suggestions?

If a guy throws a lot of straight right leads, just bring ur left hand up high and move it out away from ur face a little bit, example ricardo lopez,u can simple stuff the guys right hand be4 it gets close 2 u,and if he throws it behind a jab u can stuff his right by just jabbing back, either jabbing his glove and stuffing it or hitting him n the chest or face to throw the balance off,and if he start 2 kinda loop it,when u have the hand high and out a little,u can jab out tucking ur chin under ur left shoulder and stop it ala larry holmes he was a master at it

easy... shoulder roll then right uppercut to the body or chin/straight to the body or chin. Works every time;D
