Froch - Taylor and beyond
Froch boxed a terrible fight. You could see he was nervous from the start. That said he was man enough to cross the pond and fight Taylor in his own country. Taylor wouldnt come to England.
Even though Froch boxed badly he won and won dramaticly.
He should forget about Calzaghe. Joe has nothing left to prove to anyone.
Froch claims Calzaghe avoided him and gave up the WBC belt instead of facing him. This is crap Calzaghe could make more money boxing Hopkins than Froch so took the sensible option.
Stay retired Joe.
Froch should go for the IBF title as a fight against Lucian Bute would sell well as Froch is known in Canada for defeating Pascal and i'm sure Showtime would be more than pleased to show the fight.
Once he beats Bute and starts to listen to what his trainer tells him he can move on and try to unify the title.
A defence against Sakio Bika would make a good fight and would improve him no end.
Finally I remember watching Froch's trainer Robert McCracken boxing Ensley Bingham years ago.
Going into the 10th and last round MaCracken was miles behind and needed a KO to win. Just like FRoch he did it.

I'm actually in the process of watching the Froch fight again now whilst I write this.
He really wasn't as far behind as people think. He could have won the second round and was pushing Taylor back with combinations by the end of the 5th.
In the 6th round he really stepped it up and imo won his first clear round.
His only really bad round was the third, sure he was outboxed early as Taylor is far faster but he kept his cool and broke Taylor later.
Great win imo.
Froch destroys Bute imo and he beats Andrade easily. What people forget with Andrade is that he is slower than Froch, he simply won't land the punches that Taylor (the fast supermiddleweight out there) hit him with him.
I see Froch beating everyone bar Kessler but even there its far from a gimme for Kessler, Froch will test Kessler physically more than Calzaghe did.
There are also significant turning points in a career, and in picking himself up off the ground in round 3 Froch has proven to himself he can cope with adversity and turn fights around. He will be more confident than ever now.

spot on
the only possible way you could believe froch needed a last round KO is if you watched the fight with taylor tinted glasses.
I had it dead level going into the last and am also in agreement with your everybody but kessler argument.
Froch did indeed take a bit to adjust in this fight, but thats carl froch all over...ive seen his 3rd pro fight, his 5th pro fight etc and each time against completely nobodys he came out of the 1st few rounds looking 2nd best because he intentionally sits back and works out his fighter.
carl isnt tyson strong or mayweather quick - but he`s a very intelligent fighter that knows the game inside out and will take advantage of any slight chink in your armour.
Kessler would beat him on sheer workrate and pavliks power would be too much - other than those 2 i think froch is just about unbeatable at the weight!!
Re: Froch - Taylor and beyond
I would like to see Carl maybe fight an easier defence next against perhaps somebody in the lower half of the world top ten or sombody in the lower half of the WBC top ten. Then a Unification match up against Lucian Bute would be good and build up towards a kessler match up.
Re: Froch - Taylor and beyond
I dont think the Froch -Taylor fight was on the same level but it reminded me of Taylor - Chavez and not just because of the dramatic ending .
froch was having success the eye catching clusters came from Taylor but I think it was such a gruelling fight that with hidsight the ending should not be as surprising as it was 1st time around .
Something we get caught up in the moment and forget punches fucking hurt .

Why was it not on the same level?
Taylor is a former undisputed world champ and future Hall of Famer and Froch will go on to do great things I'm sure.
Re: Froch - Taylor and beyond
Froch simply could take an ass whoopin longer than taylor could give one. I'm not sure what i'd like to see the guy do next. The guy wins and that's most important, but he looked ok against rybacki the first time he was supposed to impress everyone on tv, i haven't seen the pascal fight, and now for his second big outing he won but again he looked just ok.
