Justice was served last night
Don't get me wrong... i LIKE Hatton. He's a humble (normally), hardworking, personable guy. What i DID'NT like was his insinuating he was fighting for the world's p4p title. How utterly presumptous!! And in a way, the finish was fitting. It showed the world that Ricky was nowhere NEAR the top of the world's p4p list. Sometimes it takes a crash-landing like that to put some perspective into things.
Re: Justice was served last night
Don't think Ricky has been that Humble of late... but i totally agree this wasn't a p4p no1 fight IMO beforehand.
its like Saying John Ruiz would have been the p4p no1 champ if he'd have beaten Roy Jones when he moved up....totally ridiculous.
it was more of a confirmation that Pac deserved the spot IMO before and after ;)

Agree 1,000%. For Pac to have jumped up two weight divisions and destroyed DLH (no matter how shot he was... nobody knew beforehand), and then crushed an established 140-pound champion like that....... I don't think there's ANY argument against Pacquiao being the absolute # 1 p4p (a fact that must be eating a hole in PBF's stomach right about now, heh-heh).
Re: Justice was served last night
It was a ridiculous statement to make, and as much as I like Ricky and wanted him to win last night, hm constantly talking about being p4p #1 was just about as annoying as Carl Froch constantly calling out Calzaghe.
I was annoyed after the Floyd fight just because Hatton lost to Floyd, now I'm irritated cos' Hatton showed an absolutely awful gameplan after all the planning and work that was done. I'm annoyed at Hatton this time, but, Pacquiao looked great.

added to that, Pac beat DLH and now Hatton far better that Mayweather did.
Thats gotta hurt Mayweather ;D:-X;D
Re: Justice was served last night
Ricky pretty much hit his absolute highest point after beating Tszyu, and old Tszyu but that was still his biggest career win. He managed to keep himself in the picture and defend his title for years after despite his flaws as a fighter. Ricky always had the heart of a champion and the will of one and thats what made him sucessful. I do think that his ego got bigger over the years and he went from being a totally humble champion to the guy that entered the ring last night to a song about himself. He accomplished a lot in his career and became the most popular British fighter along the way and made a lot of fans internationally. I became a fan of his along the way. I even gave him a good chance at beating Manny. But last night, the better fighter won. The much better fighter and truthfully he was made to look like an amateur. And in hindsight, Ricky wasnt going to be improved regurdless of his trainer. He was a the same guy Billy Graham guided to his first title. Mentally I think he thought he was had better than that. Bigger than his roots. So I guess you could say justice was served. The right man won.

I bet Mayweather doesn't scrape by with a split decision over Marquez though ;)
Seriously I expect Money May to put on a vintage display and KO Marquez in the late rounds to set up the most anticipated fight of many of our lifetimes!

In a way, no offence meant to Marquez, but I hope that Mayweather does beat him, I know it's expected to go that way but it's not a foregone conclusion.
I'd just love to see Pacquiao v Mayweather, who wouldn't ?! ... there'll probably be more fans for Pacquiao against Floyd than there were Hatton v Floyd.
Possibly because people just generally don't like Floyd, or, like myself, really like Pacquiao, and the things he stands for. They both beat Hatton sure, but, seeing Floyd on canvas after a fight with Manny...ahhh, that'd be lovely thanks ;)

what you mean he'll lose ;D
Re: Justice was served last night
The British TV (SKY) was unbelievably annoying with that P4P shit. I can't believe how hard they promoted it all the way until the fight started.
Terrible as the KO was, it probably is fitting that Hatton looked like a complete mug compared with a genuine P4P top dog (again).

I knew Hatton was going to be mopped.
I made a 5th round knock out prediction on another forum.
Hatton's fans laughed at my prediction.
I remember one bloak on this here forum who kept asking a dumb stupid silly question.
He made a post asking 'Since when does Manny have Tyson's power?"
lol
I told everyone that Hatton was going to get KTFO with a left hook.
I was right again.
I guess he who laughs last, truly laughs the best.
I just thought I would say I told so to all those clowns who neg repped me for saying that Manny would destroy Ricky Hatton.
I told you so!
;D

FOTY, there is a video on youtube that I think will crack you up. It is by a guy who calls himself Big Ragu. He predicted Manny to win, and all these people, wrote nasty comments to him. The video from today is him going over the comments, reading the person's username and then the comment one after the other. Classic shit.
