Does anyone have any good recommendations for a good boxing gym in NYC? I have no experience in boxing, and I'm looking to get started and learn the basics. Thanks in advance for your help.

NYC? I don't know much gyms there off of the top of my head, but I'll say this, stay away from Gleasons. They charge an arm and a leg for just a small piece of their time. To find some gyms, you could take a look at an online directory, e.g. boxing gyms.com or boxinghelp.com
As for NY, there's one trainer I'd recommend to anyone. Look up Ron Lipton. He lives in Poughkeepsie. He was a strong sparring partner to great fighters like Rubin Carter, Dick Tiger, Emile Griffith, Muhammad Ali, and others. He really knows his boxing, and if you're looking for someone in NY to learn from, that's the guy that you'd want to go to.
