The Fight No One is Talking About, But Worthy of Discussion
This weekend, in front of a home crowd in Rome, Italy, the Ring Magazine # 7 ranked cruiserweight, Giacobbe Fragomeni (26-1) faces off against Ring Magazine # 3 ranked cruiserweight, Krzysztof Wlodarczyk (41-2), for the WBC cruiserweight belt.
Fragomeni is a tough, come-forward fighter who other than his victory over Rudolf Kraj may be best known for fighting well with David Haye before losing in the 9th round. Fragomeni, however, at 38, is getting up there in age.
Although both are of Polish descent, there is more to the comparison of Wlodarczyk to Tomacz Ademak than just heritage. Each does everything well, but nothing truly exceptional. Each, also, has a common opponent in Steve Cunningham. Wlodarczyk split his two fights with Cunningham, winning the first in a close split decision and losing the second on points. In his only fight with Cunningham, Ademak beat him by split decision. Needless to say, if Wlodarczyk beats Fragomeni, I would love to see a Ademak v. Wlodarczyk unification scrap. Can you say "barn-burner"? And imagine Warsaw, Poland or Newark, New Jersey? It unquestionably would be big business.
As I alluded to earlier, this fight has big implications especially if the Pole wins. Either way, two top-ten cruisers is always fun to watch. From what I gather, the fight won't be televised in the US. Please PM me if you can share with me another method of viewing it.
Graham Houston puts forth a good analysis of this fight here: GIACOBBE FRAGOMENI vs KRZYSZTOF WLODARCZYK | FightWriter. I agree with Houston - I like Wlodarczyk in this fight by decision.

I think people aren't discussing it because they don't have access to it. The fight won't be televised in either the US or the UK but it should be a close fight. I can't make my mind up who wins. I'm leaning towards a close decision for the champion in his home country but I wouldn't put my money on it. Winner has to face mandatory Herbie Hide before talk of a fight with Adamek.
Re: The Fight No One is Talking About, But Worthy of Discussion
If it was in Poland, Wlodarczyk wins confortabl on points
If in US or Uk , Wlodarczyk wins a close won
In Italy, hmm I dunno, hopefully its fair , Im going for Wlodarczyk
if anyone gets a way to view this let us know

Wlodarczyk is fighting goin backwards now and not too effective . Fragomeni is real tough

Re: The Fight No One is Talking About, But Worthy of Discussion
I'm reading...
I liked "Diablo" leading up to the "USS" fights I figured he'd win both fights but he def. lacked hunger IMO.
It was almost as if he was content with just getting by and he gassed out, which I think will be his dismay here unless he's changed that.
Re: The Fight No One is Talking About, But Worthy of Discussion
wtfff okay this ref is bullshit.. Fragomeni had a beat down in the 9th and he took a knew. He got up and was knocked down again. The ref ruled it a no knockdown and for some reason gave Fragomeni a minute time out lol
Wlodarczyk dominating
7-3
Re: The Fight No One is Talking About, But Worthy of Discussion
Diablo was real tired at the end
My scorecard is 8-4 Wlodarczyk
116-111 but I sense a screw job .. hopefully im wrong
Re: The Fight No One is Talking About, But Worthy of Discussion
Sounds like "Diablo" did enough to win...
Re: The Fight No One is Talking About, But Worthy of Discussion
They better not screw up my "Diablo" prediction... :furious2:
