Yogi Berraesque Quote and Ibeabuchi
Watched the Tua vs Ibeabuchi fight on ESPN Classic the other night and John Scully said something that made me crack up, and I just had to share it.
"I would think that, not that they underestimated Ibeabuchi but, the guy's obviously gotta be considered more than they thought he was."
Gee, isn't that basically the definition of underestimating?!
Ibeabuchi, looked pretty good! Too bad he self destructed...
Re: Yogi Berraesque Quote and Ibeabuchi
Were they showing that one on ESPN or did he announce the fight? That's pretty cool if they are showing that fight a lot because that was a very good and very underrated fight. Two huge bangers throwing a ton of punches and taking them well. Btw I thought Tua got the short end of the stick in that one, I thought he won.
Re: Yogi Berraesque Quote and Ibeabuchi
They were showing it on ESPN, but it sounded like his was announcing as it originally aired...
I thought Ibeabuchi edged it, but I could see a case for Tua, as he seemed to land the harder punches.
I thought it was interesting how II's corner and Scully were both of the opinion that he should stay on the outside; which does make logical sense. However, it seemed that Tua caught him with his most meaningful punches when he wasn't inside with him. So I think it was an example of a fighter's instincts, being superior to other considerations.
