To answer your question, Joe is now head of a position with the Democrat Senate Majority heading up a local Buffalo liaison office. He earns $70,000 a year plus benefits and this job is considered as a"patronage" job by many, which isn't well seen by everybody because the state of New York is in hard financial times (as we all know). The "strange" aspect of it all is: Joe campaigned against such position while running for New York State Senate.
