Amir Khan: I'd fight Ricky Hatton
Amir Khan has completed a U-turn by claiming he would now be interested in fighting close friend Ricky Hatton.
Khan, who will face Ukrainian Andreas Kotelnik for the WBA light-welterweight title, had previously denied that he would fight Hatton.
However having seen Hatton come unstuck against Manny Pacquiao, Khan has now switched his stance.
Khan, who sparred with Pacquiao and is trained by Freddie Roach, told The Daily Telegraph: "It would be a brilliant fight for the fans to see but we have to leave that to the promoters. It would be a brilliant fight because of our styles.
"I'm a boxer, he's a pressure fighter. But we'll leave it to the promoters. If it doesn't come off, it does not bother me."
Hatton has yet to decide on his future plans following that second-round knockout - but there is little doubt over the financial lure of a fight against Khan.
Problems
First up for Khan, though, is his world title showdown with Kotelnik at London's O2 Arena on June 27.
Kotelnik has lost just twice in his career - close decisions to Bradford's Junior Witter and Souleymane M'Baye - and beat Welshman Gavin Rees for the WBA belt.
However Khan is confident he can achieve his dreams of becoming world champion.
Khan said: "This fight with Kotelnik is a big night for me, the fight I've been working towards for my whole life.
"Kotelnik does just enough to win a fight, and does enough to give fighters problems. It's going to be a hell of a fight, and we are ready for it.
"I'm ready. It's four years since I became a professional, I'm training with a great coach, one of the best in the world, in one of the best gyms in the world. Stepping up from lightweight to light-welterweight, I'm going to be a lot stronger, making the weight a lot easier, and holding my power."

Re: Amir Khan: I'd fight Ricky Hatton
I think anyone would want a piece of Hatton now that they've seen what pac man done to him.. don't think they would of wanted anything to do with him beforehand. :p
Never the less, if it does happen it will be a very interesting fight and you can see Khan outboxing him for 12 rounds, although I don't see a KO.

If everyone now wants to fight Hatton, is Hatton willing to continue boxing and fight everyone that's calling him out??
.
Re: Amir Khan: I'd fight Ricky Hatton
Hatton had an off night got caught several times early and inevitably his game plan went out of the window and it all went tits up.
Im still pretty sure if ricky can persuade graham to come back in an advisory role with lee beard taking the reigns as head trainer ricky has it in him to be able to beat everyone at 140/147 barring the big 4 (floyd, marq, pac, cotto)
Re: Amir Khan: I'd fight Ricky Hatton
I won't mind seeing Hatton fighting Khan, Torres, Bailey, Ortiz, JMM (after losing to PBF), Witter, Campbell, Bradley, Valero and many other good match ups...
.
Re: Amir Khan: I'd fight Ricky Hatton
Talking of Hatton, has there been any rumors about the trainer's thing? We all expect he'll drop big mouth Mayweather but has it been confirmed yet?

Well I think Ricky would quite happily fight anyone who called him out, but in my honest opinion he doesn't have it anymore. It's hard to say that cus i'm a huge Hatton fan, but when you're walking towards pac man with complete disregard to defence you know something aint right...
I personally want to see one more fight out of him, at wembley preferably... either against Witter, Khan or Bradley.

Any of these 3 will be a good match up for Ricky at this stage... Bradley and hopefully Khan and Witter, each have straps at 140... Nice picks...

Re: Amir Khan: I'd fight Ricky Hatton
its looking more and more likely that this will happen
everything slowly coming into place - a Khan victory required first though which from what I've read and heard (i have not seen kotelnik fight) is no dead cert though likely...??
Re: Amir Khan: I'd fight Ricky Hatton
After Khan fights Hatton he will take on Manny Pac next. Logical or not :-\
