Was Mike Tyson guilty.....

Of Rape?

I guess we'll never know, but my opinion is that he was set up.

I never felt he was set up but on the same hand I never felt he was truly guilty.

The girl knew what was going on she was there against the rules of the pagent,

they fooled around they had a good time Mike talked her into doing the deed, I am sure with some pursuasion afterwards he treated her like a scrub she was offended and that was her way of getting back at him and covering her ass at the same time

He was guilty of using the wrong lawyer is all....that conviction actually prolonged his career so in the end it benefitted him

Watching the recent Tyson film, I thought it was quite telling that he still showed genuine hatred towards her. He seemed like someone that TRULY believes they were wronged.

Desire Washington had previously accused a high school athlete of rape.

She went to Tyson's hotel room, sometime around 2 to 3 a.m.

When she arrived, she admittedly removed her panty liner in the bathroom

After they were done having sex/rape, Desire asked Mike to walk her down stairs to her limo. Mike refused, and they got into an argument.

She then waits over 24 hours before she calls 911.

The case was ultimately assigned to a judge who was a former rape prosecutor.

The judge made numerous questionable decisions during the trial which went against Tyson.

For instance, he would not allow three witnesses from the pageant testify, who observed Washington and Tyson making out earlier that night. His rulings were based on legal technicalities.

Desire Washington testified at the criminal trial, that this was not about money, and that she would not bring a civil suit against Tyson. Immediately after the criminal trial , she filed a civil suit.


The bottom line is that the case came down to credibility: his word against hers. And apparently, the beauty queen made a better witness then the fighter.

I always thought he was innocent of rape and the way he talked about "That wretched swine of a woman";D Desiree in his film/documentary really did reinforce that somewhat.

I don't believe he did it. He has remained resolute over the years that he was wronged. 3 years in jail on what basis exactly? He has every right to be bitter.

Nice post

Tyson has admitted to a lot of horrible things, but yet he still completely denies that he raped Desiree Washington. Again, it's just my opinion, but I think Tyson would probably have admitted it at this stahe had he have done it :-\

We all say things in the moment. I would hardly see that as a confession. He was convicted of rape, perhaps he should have said "convicted rapist". :-\

Never believed he was guilty right from the start any women going to some guys hotel room at 3am knows what shes doing.
I think he would have owned up by now but still he says he did not raper her.

Well i doubt i would ever say that in the moment, if i had been convicted of rape. Im sorry but everyone that is defending Mike Tyson in this thread is a Mike Tyson fan.

So the women did falsely accuse a guy of rape before, that doesn't mean she falsely accused Mike Tyson does it ? so she never called up the police until 24 hours.

Alot of women that have been raped don't call the police straight away, i mean all the comments in this thread are a little bit over the top, to try and defend Mike Tyson IMO.

Now im no expert on this case and im not saying he did or didn't do it, but all the comments im reading in this thread really prove nothing. I think the best thing we could do is try and post the evidence or ETC. From the court case did they find any evidence that she had been raped ?

I dont know,the man just lost his daughter.Who really knows?
