RJJ vs Danny Green confirmed for Oz - Oct/Nov

Yes just saw it on the news!!!
Although they havn't confirmed venue yet, or even what state it will be in..

Either Melbourne which is 40 mins away from me.. Or Perth which is about 8 hours by plane on the other side of the Country..

It is pending they both win their bouts in August where Jones is fighting Lacy, and Green is fighting Julio Cesar Dominguez on the Jones Undercard for vacant IBO Cruiserweight title.

Good on Green I say.. This is a big fight for Australian boxing...
And although I always thought Mundine would be a good fight with Jones, screw Mundine.. if he had the right management and gameplan in regards to his career, HE would be the one who set this fight up.. Now he's missing out and Green is taking the spoils.. Win or lose, it's great that this fight is able to happen, especially here in Australia...

Definitely great for Australia but I still think that my second all time favorite should just retire as he has nothing more to prove and can only add some defeats to his roster and risk his health.

this just stinks of a guy desperate to earn a few more bucks before he calls it a day.

Id rather RJJ do that by going to oz and fighting danny green rather than putting himself in harms way by fighting a dawson or froch!!

I would prefer Jones to retire rather than continue this bizarre end of career carry on. Not looking like it's going to happen anytime soon. I hope it doesn't end too messily when it does. Jones doesn't seem the type to know when enough is enough.

Does he even need money? Obviously it wouldn't be shocking if he's blown throw a lot of it but if he was even mildly competent with his money he'd be fine.

I think he just can't give it up. He could get KO'd here though.

Especially as it's suggested Jones may train down here for a while with the Mundine camp. So eventually that time will come where Jones will turn to Mundine and say,
"So what was the reason again why you completely squandered away your talent and potential?"

Yes it won't be a great time for Mundine.
