Re: Molitor decisions Ruiz
I'm waiting for a good rip to appear for this, only full dvd uploaded so far and too big a file to be bothered getting.
I think he can come back. Everyone wrote Bernard Dunne off after Martinez demolished him and his two comeback fights following that loss were less than impressive.
At least he got the win and can look to the future again, I still like him and think he can regain his title in time.
Re: Molitor decisions Ruiz
Although it would be nice to have another Canadian win one of
the world titles, based on his performance, he did not demonstrate championship quality.
FOOTWORK: When he was moving forward he was flatfooted and lacked
that smooth moving ability. His dancing backwards served no useful
purpose because he danced out of range for any effective counter punch,
or to be in position to rip-in solid punches with pinpoint accuracy.
He will never win "the Willie Pep School of ring movement award"
or "The Sugar Ray Robinson combination punching trophy".
COMBINATION: Some of his single or combination punches were
not well executed, for example in one of the later rounds he threw what
appeared to be an awkward long left hook and right hook, but neither
of the two punches would fit into my definition of Effective Punching.
they were arm punches that lacked leverage, speed and accuracy.
in another case, he landed a well executed punch that landed
but had no significant effect on Ruiz. That tells us that Ruiz can
take a punch, or Molitor doesn't have the tools to land effective knockout punches.
Re: Molitor decisions Ruiz
He wasn't matched against any killers in his first run up to a title so there's no reason he can't get that title back again. I hear that WBA/IBF champ Celestion Caballero is having troubles making weight, both Marquez & Vazquez are gone to feather and Junama will be there sometime next year as well. Moiltor will be fine until they match him with a A fighter.
Sound Familiar? Can anyone say Billy Irwin?!?
