deathnote or code geass? which is better?

which anime is better? for those who watched both shows?

one talks about a note being dropped from the world of death owned by a death god whereas anyone who writes down a name in there with the face of the victims in their minds will die within 40 seconds. along with other rules. a 17 year old kid picks it and decides to pass judgement to criminals until only those who are good remain.

the other talks about the near future where a power named geass grants someone the uncanny ability that makes him unstoppable in some ways, the power depending to the wielder. however it also unleashes the evil side of the one who has it. mechas and world domination is the plot, holy Britannia empire conquering almost 1/3 of the world, and the protaganist in the end has to play the role of a villain and make the ultimate sacrifice to ensure everlasting peace for mankind. not only geass is the power here but the "code" which grants immortality to someone having it.
