Does anyone have any idea whats happening with Kelly Pavlik? Since the cancellation of the Sergio Mora fight, theres been hardly any news on the middleweight champ whatsoever (apart from the story that he was having trouble with alcohol addiction which was later quashed by him and his team). If anyones got any info i would much appreciate it as Pavlik is one of my favourite fighters and i cant wait to see him in action again.
Last I heard was Arum telling Steve Bunce that they're working with HBO to set up a October unification with Felix Sturm. I've recently heard HBO lowballed the fight with a shitty offer, so watch this space.
Thanks for reply mate. Yeah i heard that too about a Sturm fight but i thought that maybe talks for it had stopped as ive not heard anything on it since, hope it does happen though, that would be a great fight to look forward to!

Well don't count a match between Pavlik and Mora out yet. Looks like Sturm is not going to happen, he definitely won't be fighting Abraham this year, and I know for a fact, that Mora is fighting for his rights to the fight legally. If Kelly fights someone else, Arum is going to have to pay Mora off to do so.
Top Rank, and Pavlik signed a contract for the fight, and he's holding them to it. I know a lot of people here don't like this fight, but if they signed a contract, and then the fight gets cancelled because of bull$hit on their end, they should still honor that contract.

Exactly. The Mora fight did not come off because of a dispute between Pavlik and Arum. That has since been worked out, and Arum and Pavlik want to go a different direction now; however, Mora has a contract.Quote:

Yeah i hope we see Pavlik in the ring again soon. Kellys the champion and boxers with his kind of style dont normally have long careers anyway. He needs to be fighting more.
It's all gone a bit pear shaped since the Hopkins fight. I hope he can fix himself up and get fighting soon. He's the type of fighter that needs to be fighting 3 times a year. It's a waste to spend this time without learning new things.

There are no decent fights out there for kelly hence the reason he should move up to 168 and mix it up with the likes of kessler, bute, froch etc
Pavlik is a real ghost now, so bad, he is my kind of fighter hope we will see him soon :D
Kelly seems to be doing fine. Just seen him on the golf course, he has an outing coming up. He is in good shape still getting his gym work in, ready for the best option. I for one would like to see him fight Mora. All in all just trying to keep a low profile and squash all the haters.
