Some like a fighter because of their resume of talent faced, others like the knockout artist, while perhaps it's the fast pace a particular boxer keeps or maybe it's just because there is a fighter who is so technically gifted that every fight is like a clinic in motion.
The reason why you follow your favorite ring warrior really doesn't matter because, when it comes time for the bout to begin, there is nothing anyone can say to sway your emotions. You will cheer for them until the end and at the final bell, you will either celebrate their victory or wallow in their defeat.

Incredible article. His leaving this world has left so many of us with an empty feeling. He was the embodiment of fighting spirit. Will there ever be another one like him?

Thanks for the feedback, it was a terrible loss for the boxing world and NO I don't think there will be another like Arturo, at least for some time to come

Nice work there, Daxx.
Still a bit stunned by what happened to Gatti TBH. But really, what a career. So many truly brilliant fights. He didn't win them all, but so what....he fought his heart out nearly every time. One of my favourites to watch.

Its just sad thats Gatti is gone...I don't think there will ever be again a boxer like Arturo...Katsidis won't be for sure...I mean ...yes Katsidis has heart, but he ain't no Gatti...He was just one of a kind...
Re: Forever Thunder - Remembering Arturo Gatti
Those are great pics of Gatti, agreed there are plenty of exciting fighters who have heart but the amount of times that Gatti pulled out that left hook when he had nothing else was nothing short of amazing.

Re: Forever Thunder - Remembering Arturo Gatti
I remember there was an Larry Merchant interview a few years back and the old man stated with Gatti you didn't know if he was going to get his ass kicked or kicked the other guy's ass or get his ass kicked and then comes back and kick the other's ass. That's what makes Gatti so exciting. He was an drama queen in the ring!
Re: Forever Thunder - Remembering Arturo Gatti
Great article, my favorite quote about Arturo is in the Ruelas fight when the ref stops it, Larry Merchant probably with a huge smile on his face says giggly and astonished almost "Can you belive Aruto Gatti?!?!?!" The pretty much somes it up for me. Seems thats what everyone says after an Arturo fight. There was thread he recently of who was most dangerous when hurt, its this man.
Great article again Daxx, always put out quality posts
