I was just honestly so appalled that it needed to be addressed. I just have about as much pull as... well... I have none ;D

Thanks for taking it above what I was able to accomplish.

I will atempt to tune in. If not, could someone give a brief summery?

As one of the commentors on the Metro page said, It wasn't about defending boxing's relivance... It was about Gatti and the tasteless, uninformed, untrue and downright unkind nature(especially in the last portion) of the article.

LOL, I just seen this post. I did the same thing, and just posted about it in the other thread. I sent the article to Marc Lichtenfeld, who does the Through The Ropes radio show tonight. They are doing a Gatti tribute show.

And if they are going to do The Boxing Show with Antonio Castro this Saturday morning on ESPN Cleveland WKNR radio, I'll send it to him as well. ;D

Hopefully they will blast the metro as well

I got a reply from Marc, here is what he said.


Thanks for sending this. I don't think I want to give the guy any publicity for writing this crap. He is also wrong. The story was on the front page of the NY Daily News and was all over Sportscenter.

Additionally, his point about Don King ignoring it is garbage. I was there. Don didn't learn about Gatti until about 8:00. The doors opened at 5:00 and Showtime started its broadcast at 9:00. Even Don can't pull something together that quickly.



I guess if they are paying tribute to Gatti, they wouldn't want to bring anything negative into the show as well, so I can understand why he doesn't want to give this guy any air time.
